I'll be moving out soon so I'm gonna start shopping for the usual necessities of living on your own. I was just wondering what are some things you that you (who live on your own) have that makes your life easier, and that you can't live without? A friend recomended a George Foreman grille, I wanna know more suggestions! This can be anything that has made living on your own easier/better.

Thanks!

Purifier, and chairs are good ideas!

As far as microwave, couch, etc. those are kind of a given, I'm looking for things such as the ones listed above!

Thanks again

Laundry detergent and quarters if you don't have your own machines. Febreze. A lot of the major things have been mentioned already.

Batteries, flashlights, candles.

Toilet paper.

Good advice, tongue.gif

A laundry basket/bag, lol. Hmmm...definitely collect all the numbers of restaurants around you that deliver! lol.

I can't think today, what's wrong with me? Don't bother with a bathrobe or slippers or anything like that, no one ever uses them when they're on their own....at least, i don't....wink.gif

im not sure where your moving towards but if it permits get a bike and a nice u lock to ride around town and what not. with gas so high its worth your time to bike every once and awhile. u might want to look into a sound sytem for the living room den for guest. its always comforting to have music to keep awkard silence away oh and a deck of cards for drinking games.

Yes, water water water. A water purifier you leave in your fridge is nice. You need a calendar and lock box too to sort things, and make sure you pay your bills on time. And whoever said #'s of people that do carry-out, that's clutch. I have 2 chinese restaraunts and god knows how many pizza places.

Under no circumstances can you forget toilet maintinence devices. One time, the roomies decided it would be great fun to clog BOTH toilets at 2 in the morning, meaning late night wal-mart run. I beat them up. Don't go cheap on these either. There's nothing worse than a plunger that can't make decient vaccum. You might want to give the disposable brushes a whirl too. Easier to keep sanitary and all.

lysol spray- keeps the bathroom cleaner longer and the kitchen safer

ashtrays- sounds really stupid but even if you dont smoke, your likely to have a guest or two who does, and even if your outdoors have them because cig butts stick out like a sore thumb if you throw them on the ground, and can make you seem like a slob...
