open your hood, in the left hand front corner of the car, there will be a box, with a bunch of brake lines coming out of it. if its just an empty space, you dont have ABS.

Road test will do. Drive fast and hard brake, see how the car goes.

If wheel lock, no ABS. if not, you have ABS.

Correct me if I am wrong.

PS: Please find an empty road to do the test

What I heard, the brake rate of car without ABS is = 35% more brake rate than the car with ABS.

Yeap, I agree that it's more safe with ABS while snow or rainny days.

But I am sure the car without ABS is slightly lighter than the one with ABS, at least without the ABS pump.

Hrm i had a fun event in my old 96 celi without ABS especially started slowing down early for turn hit ice started sliding freaked out didnt lift foot off of the brake, hit the crub directly on lower lip of rim.
Cracked said rim and bent the strut and the control arm, and this was only at like 20-25 miles an hour.

Happiest day of my life.

Ouch, sounds like a blast. I have heard about panicing and not pumping the brake, I think alot of practice in a snowy parking lot would help though.

yep, dido
ABS is a must have for winter

one thing i don't like, i can't swing 180. swing in reverse, brake, put it 1st gear and go.

Wasnt so much that I paniced I just didnt react fast enough to the fact that i was actually sliding.
If i had turned into the curb right before impact i wouldve been fine.
It was like, something doesnt seem right, oh **** im sliding, theres the curb...to late.

I think there should be mandatory winter driving course/practice in drivers ed.
