Florida Meet Pt. 3, Ft. Lauderdale Options

I understand that there is a meet in Ft. Lauderdale on 11/22, but that is on a Wednesday, and honestly, I cannot POSSIBLY go on a Wednesday. No way, at all. Seriously. I'm sure a lot of you feel the same way. I know most of us work, and wouldn't be able to go, unless you lived closer and such.

So I'm thinking we have a BBQ on the beach. I think that would be fun. And SERIOUSLY guys, let's get a hotel this time. Because there is NO WAY I am going to be driving 5 hours all the way back.

By the way, I will probably be bald by then. Chemo = no fun. Watch out for the bald girl in the celi.

Definitely should be a Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday thing.

I was brainstorming a bit and came up with a few basic ideas. BBQ on the beach sounds fun. We can hit up the local car show that happens every Friday night anywhere from 6PM-10PM (I'll try to have specific times confirmed). I actually regret not staying at a hotel in Orlando because the drive home was no fun (half asleep+100MPH@4000RPM = Very dangerous and watching your gas needle go down). We need to party at night in the hotel!

Stephen - I'm sure I can get two Miami guys to come to the meet. Ben/bloodrain (tasteful exterior mods) and David/Punch (3S powered). There are others like Mina/xxx_Mina (3S powered 295HP) and about 4 more Celicas but I haven't heard from them in a WHILE. I'll PM them all and let them know about the meet. Punch knows a lot of 6GC people that aren't on the forums as well. I'll confirm the hotel info tomorrow. I'll try to get something near the Towers show. We rented at an ocean-front hotel in Ft.Lauderdale once for cheap. I'll try to get all the info.

November 17-18 sounds good. Should be plenty of time for everyone to ask the day off work if they must and take care of business.

I don't know. I might not even be able to go. Manager is very bitchy when it comes to schedules. Esp when my schedule is flexible and changes every week. Which reminds me. The OWNER of Kobe Japanese Steakhouse throughout Florida is making up a new scheduling system in which we are able to pick our own days off without the manager's concent. I don't know when this system will be implemented and take effect. It is still in the process of being developed.

I just tricked my mind to thinking I was going to Disney World. The drive back sucked. You're in Tampa tho, thats only a 2-3 hour drive. Actually, maybe a bit less because it's in Ft.Lauderdale and not Miami. Plus you'll have your girl there so it won't be bad at all!

Guys, I was browsing through some hotel rates and it's looking good so far. They're looking as low as 50 bucks per room/night. I'm trying to get a beachfront hotel in ft lauderdale and I also saw one for 64 bucks per room/night. So the search is going well. I'm just trying to get this as low as possible for everyone. I also want to find out if we can BBQ near the beach.

Any chance of this being on a Friday(night) or is it for sure going to be on the weekend? Any day is good for me as I live here.

For other SoFla people, do you guys want to meet up the Friday night before the meet at Towers? Possibly discuss other things to do when everybody arrives?

We can have a bbq at the beach, or have a bbq at a park in which we can basically drive anywhere on the grass theres also bridges we can stop on to take pics. Not much of a photo opportunity at the beach unless someone knows where we can drive onto the sand lol

Go for a Curren-Four or GT-Curren lol. Get the Curren lights,front and rear, and you have a coupe. Then custom fit the blocks, bumper and hood haha

Yeah they are really rare. I saw a Curren front clip with a silvertop 4AGE for sale on eBay for around 3000. So they are expensive if you find a clip. I don't know about just the hood, fenders, and bumper. But they are really really rare. I'll keep my eyes open.

Well..... A hotel is important because thats one hell of a drive for all of you, trust me I know....lol.... So... I know of a few that are about $65 a night give or take there's a howard johnsons in hollywood by I95. Theres a nice Best Western that gives you a free breakfast and a free drink as soon as you get there... its a few more dollars but its closer to things and nicer. And of course there are others.... depending on how many plan on staying in a hotel/motel the prices don't much matter because it will be split many ways... I know I'm getting a room..... getting drunk and having fun..lol... sooo lets say the most cost is $150 a night divided by lets say 5 is about $30 a piece ... thats not bad. but lets say we go to one of the ones thats like $65 a night between 5 people it's $13 ... I think we know which one we are going with...lol

They showed me that it was the spindle(hub assy) , the control arm(a-arm), and a little(very little) bit of the strut.... thats it... so I will be driving this weekend and thats it..... I am so freaking happy you have no idea guys.... now all I have to do is get those parts, which I can for cheap, put them on, drive... and then get new rims for my front two tires.... ahhh, life is great.

Oh no ADAM I appriciate that, but I fixed all of that on the other side.... I know how to do it and I am going to do it tomorrow, when I get the parts.... I just didnt know what was wrong with the other side and my friend got a friend of his to look at it for me.... so it is no cost to me except some cheap parts....lol... I lucked out a lot with the accident and parts....... But seriously thanks bro..... then all I have to do is get the rims and put the tires on and then i'm back in gear...lol
