Save yourself 5 grand and insurance premiums and buy a new civic coupe instead. It's basically the same car.

Of course a GTS is going to kill a RSX (non-type S)

Pit a GT Celica vs a RSX and you got bumper to bumper action

Pit a GT-S Celica vs a RSX-S and you got a close race, but the RSX will come out on top

Thing is though, the RSX's K24 is really no good for boost. Definately not worth it. The GT-S Celica can get more mods than the RSX (I think?) And we all know that the one with the most mods usually wins.

Nice to know you live up to your name... wink.gif

A base RSX will stomp a 7th gen Celica GT. C'mon... more torque, more horsepower (160 vs. 140).

An RSX-S will stomp a 7th gen Celica GT-S. Again... more torque, more horsepower (200 vs. 180).

The RSX also has the K20... which isn't the K24... which does take fairly well to boost. The stock K20 is strong enough to rev upwards of 9K fairly reliably. Although the A2 (type S motor) does have very high compression... these motors have been proven with bolt-on supercharger and turbo kits... so I'd say both motors are very strong (2ZZ and K20). Mods-wise? Hah... a Toyota versus a Honda. C'mon! Although the 2ZZ does have fair aftermarket support... it cannot compete with the K20A. ITB kits, supercharger kits, turbo kits, cams, cam gears even, pistons, rods, the whole she-bang.

IMO... K20A = BEST factory n/a 4 cylinder hands down.

considered purchasing an RSX before i laid down the money on my bike, they react *really* well to mods.

the only negative thing i've heard about them is that the trans is kinda weak, and i've heard some horror stories about mis-shifts gone terribly wrong.

otherwise, it's a solid platform to build off of. they're really expensive, but it's got one of the best 4 cyl motors in the world inside of it.

the 7th gen celicas dont impress me much. i kinda want one of those too, but sadly i'd be stuck with about the same amount of torque that i'd get with a 6th gen GT.

Yup Sinner is right about the tranny. Friend had a RSX type S but i guess six gears are to many for him and had to get the tranny replaced after about two months of driving.

i see rsx's everyday... pretty nice, but just another honda to me. at least a type-s has enough power to brag about. as much as i hate to admit it, honda has some of the best na motors.

Ehh ****, I was going off memory, which I guess was way off. I though the RSX Made 140 horsies/130'ish TQ at around the same RPM as a new celica. I checked it now, and was way off.

K20? That was just my bad all around. hah. S2k has the K24, does it not?

Again, going off my mind is def a bad idea. Ima have to check up on **** before I go rant on again wink.gif

biggest mistake was bringing it in as an acura but it would have been hard to bring it in as a honda w/ all the small cars they have.

correct, second generation crv's use the K24. first generation used the B20b.

by the way, did you see the new crv coming out...looks nice. pretty sure they dropped the k24 also
