Im re painting everythign in the trunk black.. I was almost done when I could not figure out how to remove this piece of plastic which in turn allows me to remove the last piece of carpet...HELP

you can just pry that piece right off (with a flathead screwdriver but make sure to tape the tip so it doesn't damage the panel).

Use a flathead screwdriver with a big head and turn the little plastic things with it while pulling out on that piece and it'll come off. I believe there are six of those things on there.

Thanks guys...that is what I ended up doing it just seemed like i might break it so I wantted to be sure. Done with my whole trunk and its now black instead of grey.
