I'm looking at V6's for the Celica and these are naturally at the top of the list. I've been hanging around mr2oc a while trying to get info on it. I want a real tear down of the pro's and cons of 3vzfe vs 1mzfe motors. I know the 1mzfe is newer, and lighter. But I know the 3vzfe is cheaper and easier to wire. Dr Tweak is going to do the wiring for me whichever I get. So, total list of parts and details on it would be cool. I'll post everything I can think of here too. I don't just want people to give me info. I want this thread to be informative to all that have a question about the V6 power.

EDIT: Not here to debate between V6 motors and 3sgte.

are you planning on keeping it NA or FI it later?

IMO the 1MZFE would be better. Its a newer engine and theres plenty of!

If I get a 3vzfe, I'm going to put metal head gaskets. I'm most likely going to tear it down unless it has really low miles and looks good. I just think that's a safer bet. Spend the time and money ahead of time so I don't have to later. Either motor will eventually be turboed. I'm shooting for a conservated 300hp. I figure I could make that and keep it pretty reliable with a turbo on either motor. I think I'm going to have to go for the 1mzfe, but I just don't want to pay for it. I'd want a 94-95 model so I would still be on OBD1. I guess if I'm tearing it down, it doesn't matter what emissions systems are on it, because I can just take them off. The 1mzfe is lighter, new, DOHC, higher powered, and more info is readily avalible for it. Money spent at first will save in the end, but it's so hard to really put that into practice sometimes.
