Yep i was arrested for reckless driving. This was a couple of weeks ago. Some guy pulled out right in front of me and i used the center left turn lane to pass around him. Cop saw me coming around the guy and made a U-ey and I instantly pulled over in my works parking lot (i was going back to work anyways) and he asks me why I was in a rush and I told him that guy pulled out infront of me and so I went around him. He then asked me to step out of my car cuz i was under arrest for reckless. I didnt put up a fight but WOW TALK ABOUT EMBARASSING since it was infront of my work. He puts me in the back of the car searches my car and asks why theres alcohol in the backseat. I said the minature bottle was from a mariners game a month ago - which is true. it was unopened. Then he told me that "come to think of it, you do smell like alcohol. Have you been drinking" I was actually quite offended by the remark but told him I hadnt and I was willing to take a breathalizer. He told me it wouldnt be neccesary. He then told me if I cooperated he'd just cite me there. So I did the whole time but I guess he changed his mind cuz when he returned to the car he started to drive away. I asked if I could tell my work since this happened on the backside and they probably didnt see me but he said I could call htem after I was ffingerprinted. Which would be after my work was closed anyways.
So were driving to the station and he takes me in and they had no where to put me. All the holding cells were filled. They talked about putting me in the bathroom till they realized they had someone in there being held. So they put two guys togehter in a cell then put me in one (alone). I stayed quiet. The lady who was doing my fingerprinting and pics was really nice but the cop told her to take her time with me. So I finally got out about 2 hours later or so and I walked 3 miles back to my work. I didnt want a ride from anyone cuz I was upset with myself. So my parents were upset but more upset with the cop for A. Handcuffing their little girl B. accusing me of smelling of Alcohol and C. Giving me such a harsh ticket. Well im dealing with one of the best lawyers now - 2500 bucks but well worth it in the end I think. Parents luckily put up the money for it cuz I dont have 2500 bucks to pay upfront. So im in the process of dealing with that and paying them back. Im not mad at the cop - yeah I shouldnt have downshifted and went around the guy but I have a fear of braking hard ever since I had to do that once and my brakes went out. Note - no comments needed of how I deserved the ticket - im not putting up a fight over it but the 2 lawyers ive talked to even said it was pretty harsh and they usually wouldnt give reckless for that. -------------------- Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City

Yea Getting arrested blows. Especially when your face is pressed against the cold steel of a cruiser(My Experience). Sorry to hear about it. I feel your pain. Not exactly too much of a fan of the polce. Theyre great cause they protect and stuff, But who stops them for un necessary speeding in a cruiser? Plus they focus in on my rice-mobile

Only thing that did upset me was when he was driving me to teh station he didnt use his blinker to make a turn and he unbuckled 2 blocks before we even got into the parking lot.

i hope it all settles good for you. you think it had somthing to do with the car? i get pulled everyonce and while doing normal stuff, i normall get off, but ive gotten pulled like 3 times... all the cops did was want my lisence, insurance, and a quick glance in the back...my theory is the car sets off an alarm. -------------------- ![]() |

you couldn't just get a ticket? I mean, was it really all that necessary to get arrested, brought down to the station, and actually almost get held in a bathroom? Just seems a little extreme to me, seeing as you seemed so cooperative.
Sorry to hear about it, though. Hope it all works out. -------------------- ![]() "I bet you drive a standard." "You could make some money off that bet." :D |

Assuming your story is accurate, the offense is called "improper lane usage" - not reckless driving. If your lawyer can't get that ticket reduced to a petty offense, she better issue a refund.

My lawyer has gotten a family friends 16 year old son completely off of 3 RECKLESS - completely off! and gotten some other people completely off DUIs. Shes good. So Im hoping for this completely dropped and if not then improper lane usage will probably be it.

I would have to do something, I would be soo pissed that I just got a ticket cause I went around someone. I would def. blow up inside. You did well not saying anything to the cop, maybe he was in a bad mood and you were the one he was taking it out on. Yeah, I hope you get something done in court about that. GL.

I did the samething last Sunday night. A stupid truck did a U turn and went off to the side of the road and instead of staying off the road he decided to drive back on right infront of me so I just went around him because I knew I wouldn't have been able to stop in time, but I was lucky because as soon as I passed him a car was coming head on in the other lane

I really hope your lawyer can get you out of it, or at least largely reduced.
In some cases, the consequences are too severe for the violations we commit. You never know, there could have been someone else making a mistake, and been in that turn lane... a situation where you or others could have gotten hurt. I have made some mistakes too, it's okay, and I'm happy it wasn't worse. But I bet from now on, you will stand on the brakes. ![]() Good luck to you! -------------------- '92 Grey Mitsubishi 3000GT SL - Sold

This is why I run, all the time. I never stop for police. I usually don't have to run unless on the interstate or a back road, both of which are easy to out run the Crown Vics. It would realy suck for me to get caught. I wouldn't allow them to figure print me. They would have to knock me out to get me to agree to that. I can take a lot of pain. I don't want in the system, and I would loose and arm to keep it that way.

sorry to hear that you got ripped by the cops too, sounds like you'll get off since you were avoiding a collision, such crap that cops always asume the worst and never accept that they may be wrong.
I got arrested a few weeks ago for doing a small burn out in a jack in the box parking lot in my g/f 96 cherokee ment to just spin eh a bit but ended up sliding the back around a little. was no big deal as soon as it did I hit the breaks and stopped, then when i pulled to the main road, 5 cars hit there lights and pulled me over, 2 stopped behind me the others turned off there lights and drove down the road after i stopped. anyway I got the whole bs pulled me out searched me did not search the car but yelled at my g/f and acked like total a$$es. asked how much i had to drink ( imediatly said i dont drink and have never had any) they threw me in the back, then called me a lier when i told then the truth, said the same story 4 times they finaly belived it the 4th time, after they saw my clear record and I told em my place of work. anyway they said they were taking me straght to jail, also said they were trying to find a cell for me. i was like whatever guys. kinda smileling a bit it was funny to me. they ended up letting me go with a ticket for a court date. my lawer pushed back the court date and is dropping it from a reckless driving to neg so its not on my record as a cirminal affece. anyway I lost all respect for the cops in boney lake (were it happend) -------------------- ![]() |

this thread isn't even worth my time to explain why cops do what they do.
blackcelicagt - you OBVIOUSLY drive like a moron. i suggest working on that. i gain this assumption from your multiple threads about your reckless driving and assumed multiple tickets. oh and the reason you were arrested was to post bond because of the significant amount of the citation. i'm sure more than likely the lawyer will get you off, but you'll pay your right arm to have the individual do so. ok! ive had no tickets for about 2 years now. Ive been commented on multiple times by people on how good of a driver I actually am. Aggressive yes but I do have the skills to get myself out of situations. Im not complaining about the ticket. Im complaining about arresting me. lol. Dont tell me that if I cooperate you will let me go with my court date and citation and then just decide to change your mind after I put up no fight and called you "sir". I didnt have to post bond to get out so you should probably get your facts straight. Insignifcant amount of the citation? A reckless is considered to be as harsh as a DUI. 2500 bucks isnt an arm and a leg. Paying hte insurance for like 7 years for a reckless is an arm and a leg for improperly using a lane. Also the fact its a felony in Canada which means I wouldnt be able to go to Canada would be piss me off. Also the fact its a felony in Canada which means I wouldnt be able to go to Canada would be piss me off. re-read what i said. note the part about it saying "SIGNIFICANT" no IN in front of it. what about your bus escapade? also, do you have formal training in driving? are you really in a hurry to get everywhere? aggressive driving is just as bad as drunk driving, hence, the reason you got a SIGNIFICANT penalty. i'm sure your driving history isn't peachy, and prior offenses play a factor into which citation you are getting. laws change from state to state, and in my state a misdemeanor offense gets you in jail, generally to get out of jail you have to post some type of bond, signature or cash. my guess is that you had to do the signature saying you'll appear in court that day. that is known as a SIGNATURE BOND. so yes, you did post bond. if there are mitigating circumstances for needing to post bond, i.e out of state drivers with a large fine, history of bail jumping, no ID, agency policy, etc, they'll either post that bond or remain in jail. you are arguing with the wrong person because unlike you, i know what i am talking about. ^ wow calm down! i take it u are an officer. i have said nothing against officers. I jsut think he took it a lil over board with saying if i cooperated he'd let me go and he didnt!
my parents are more upset with the cop than me. The cop knows what he was doing that he was going overboard. The lawyers have said it and another officer at the precinct thought it was a lil unjust to take me down there! And then telling the lady to take her time with fingerprinting me when they had all holding cells full and the bathroom was even being used to hold someone. I don't like getting harassed by them when I don't do anything wrong. When I'm speeding, that is understandable. People in general will act power crazy if it's given to them. Anyone who wants to challenge my knowledge, feel free to do so. I will challenge your education. Why? Because 1.) Zimbardo was a 5 or 6 day experiment. Nothing real conclusive can come from actors. Try being placed in this situation for years upon years. 2.) Have you EVER been in a position of authority? That is like saying every supervisor is bad. 3.) Have you EVER been specifically a police officer? 4.) Do you witness police interacting negatively towards everyone, or is this what is known as a "stereotype"? 5.) Not ever "singal" cop is bad, actually, very few of them are. 6.) Chances are, if you are dealing with the police YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG. 7.) Psychology is a worthless major unless you play on going Masters or above, which I highly doubt you are. I have a psychology minor, but that would be because it directly relates to the field I'm in. several of my friends are entering law enforcment.. either CHP or LAPD
i have had several experiences with police and one certainty i have is that campus police actually do fit the "stereotype" of the cop that abuses their power. at my local CC i was running to class because i was running late and was stopped by two campus police officers( and they are real police officers). they assumed i had stolen something because i was running. they cuffed me and took me to the station. while searching my bag they found my new textbooks, purchased the day before, still wrapped and asked if i had stole them from the bookstore, since i had no reciept they locked me in the cell until they got ahold of the bookstore to verify nothing was stolen. 40 min. later they let me go and made me 1hr late to class without an apology. i have also had my car searched twice for no reason while leaving the campus. one time for supposedly "racing". the car i was allegedly racing was a chevy suburban and there were a line of 7-8 cars in front of me slowing down for a red light. also halloween last year while driving past the college at 4pm i was pulled over for "possible DUI" which i passed the breathalyzer but still managed to get my car searched and detained in the back of the car and put in handcuffs. i think their reasons were bs but if i make a complaint i will still prob. see them around campus and i don't want anymore drama i have nothing but respect for the police and actually considered becoming one esp. after seeing Super Troopers ![]() -------------------- |

You know some of the best book smart people I know are the dumbest people i know; and you just went and proved it. Back on track, yeah 40 years ago things were different with cops. They hired the biggest people they could find and they typically weren't the smartest. In the past 20 years they have had standards like education and stricter laws that cops have to stand by to keep them safe and people they interact with safe. So if you get pulled over more than likely you did something for it to happen. Take a good honest hard look at yourself and how you act before you judge others for their actions cause maybe you are doing something after all. |

IM sorry about your ticket..ive been arrested and i know what you mean...sometimes they get a little crazy. I had a warrent out for a ticket I thought I paid. I was not doing anything wrong cop just happend to run my plate and it popped up. Either way next thing I knew there 3 cop cars and 6 cops surrounding me. They put me on front of my car hood cuffed me infront of a major road ( a few of my friends saw me as they where passing by). The cops yelled at me asked me why I had over 300 dollars on me (was going to visit my ex girlfriend who lived out of state) then ripped apart my car to look for drugs. All of this was over a unpaid ticket for having my gradution tassel hanging in the rear view mirror (45 dollar ticket)..my bail was 80 dollars and the cop said if I paid it they would not arrest me, so I paided it there on the spot and what do you know I was still arrested. I had to have my friend come get me since my car was now 20 miles away on the side of the road...=[...either way sometimes I think cops should think about a sititution more reasonably. THE REAL REASON I POSTED TO BEGIN WITH IS THIS POST IS GETTING OUT OF HAND...so chill out..

My "judgements" are from what you are saying, and you prove more and more with each post that your spelling is poor and your vocabulary is limited.Your use of colorful language just negates any education you have. If you can't convey your message minus f-bombs good luck to you in life. Oh, and browsing the internet during class? Tsk, Tsk, aren't going to be the model student anymore. I've found your nerve so if you want me to keep calling you stupid, I will. I'm thick skinned so good luck to you. |

I detest most pigs. I was pulled over 22 times in one year by one set of cops for nothing untill I threatened to sue for harrassment, sexual harassment. The guy turned red and started grumbling. But I wasn't pulled over again.
I have no qualms about calling their superior officers and yelling at them too. There are now 3 state patrol officers that have been forbidden from pulling me over. The last 2 experiances were in my Olds, I was accused of not wearing my seatbelt, speeding, and my liceanse plate bracket coveing the experation tags. I called his manager, he made the 35 mile round trip to see me and the car instead of me driving to where he was. I have owned the car for 6 years and had he same bracket. I always wear my seatbelt after one saved my life in a rollover in my brothers Ranger, he was driving. Time before that he was the one pulling me over for supposedly not using my turn signal to merge, he followed me for 4 miles then onto the interstate. He almost crapped hisself when I hit the brakes hard when I was pulling over, Pirelli tires, Brembo brakes and custom brake lines and the Olds stops harder than the Toy does. ![]() |

Wow, alot of harshness in theis thread.
Just so no one thinks I hate all cops, one of my uncles is one. And a damn good one, and I have alot of city police that are my frineds. And I have been pulled out of my truck at gunpoint. ( long story, ending in me getting laughed at) And gone on rides with them. And been taken to Wal-Mart as I was to wasted to drive, let alone walk. (Friend of mine took me there, a officer) To sober up, it was open 24 hours, and it was the first date with April, who is now my wife. She was arrested, not much there either though, funny now that we look back on it. |

Also the fact its a felony in Canada which means I wouldnt be able to go to Canada would be piss me off. re-read what i said. note the part about it saying "SIGNIFICANT" no IN in front of it. what about your bus escapade? also, do you have formal training in driving? are you really in a hurry to get everywhere? aggressive driving is just as bad as drunk driving, hence, the reason you got a SIGNIFICANT penalty. i'm sure your driving history isn't peachy, and prior offenses play a factor into which citation you are getting. laws change from state to state, and in my state a misdemeanor offense gets you in jail, generally to get out of jail you have to post some type of bond, signature or cash. my guess is that you had to do the signature saying you'll appear in court that day. that is known as a SIGNATURE BOND. so yes, you did post bond. if there are mitigating circumstances for needing to post bond, i.e out of state drivers with a large fine, history of bail jumping, no ID, agency policy, etc, they'll either post that bond or remain in jail. you are arguing with the wrong person because unlike you, i know what i am talking about. aggressive drving is as bad as drunk driving? wow. obviously bein from the country side, uve never been to NYC cuz if aggressive drivin were as bad as drunk drivin...then the entire city of NY should be in jail. and theres a big difference between driving aggressive and driving stupid. no offense man but ur to tell me that uve never driven aggressively in ur life? -------------------- Note to new members. it seems cops are always there when you don't need them, and never there when you do. they'd rather be pulling people over and giving them tickets then trying to stop any actual crimes because that's how they make their money. take, for instance, when 2 of my friends were walking home. they passed a group of about 4-5 mexican guys. on of the guys says something, one of my friends says something back which apparently offended him, he turns around and punches my friend in the face. my other friend happened to have big stick in his hand which he had picked up, was about to hit the guy with it, when the rest of the mexican guys pull out knives. he backs off, and my other friend just gets punched in the face several times more. he never fights back, and they end up just walking away. they get home a few minutes later, call the cops, they say they'll send someone and it takes 4 hours for the cop to show up!!! by then, the other group of guys was long gone.... yet if a cop hears a tire chirp even a little, they're there in a few seconds to write you a nice ticket... funny how that works.

First, there's the "coming out" episode. For our family, it started with the 4 hour dissappearance of my (then) 19 year old sister. When we finally found her, she was incoherant in all ways, aggressive, and extremely delusional. This continued for 4 days as we attempted (without success) to get her into the overflowing mental health system. Nobody would see her because they were already overflowing. Well, after about 4 days of physcosis, things came to a head when she jumped out a window at 4 AM and was arrested for disorderly conduct, booked, and jailed, all as my 50 year-od mother watched sobbing incoherantly, feeling completely responsible because this kind of thing is genetic, and it came from her side of the family. I, being 17 at the time, was my sister's best friend and the only one she trusted. I rode to the police station in the back of the car with her, was escorted into the basement with her, and was the last one to see her before she dissappeared into the holding cells. That was 3 years ago. Now, she has been stabilized with heavy medication. That's just great too. She no longer has energy, she is dissastisfied with her body image because of how much the meds slow her metabolism down, she no longer has the clearness of thought to have in-depth discussions about much of anything. She does OK in school, being a Journalism major, and spends all of her spare time devoted to her 2 horses. This is another side affect of the "coming out episode." She retains a pseudo-deusion that nobody but her can be trusted to take care of them. I could go on for days about the little ways that she has changed and will never be the same, but this is so long already that most people will probably skip right over it, so I'll conclude with this thought. Watch your mouth ****-stain. You haven't the foggiest what the hell you're talking about. And yeah. This thread is out of hand. |

again, if you read the whole thread it wasn't meant as offensive. its something that happens.
and also, i DO have a better idea than you think. i don't have to defend myself against you. my guess is you were born in 1987, which makes you what, 18-19? do realize you are talking to someone with YEARS under their belt of dealing with people like this. you name it, i've seen it. guess who gets the aftermath? me. if you want to call someone out, i suggest you try someone else. also QUOTE When we finally found her, she was incoherant in all ways, aggressive, and extremely delusional. I don't know how things are in TN but we have what is known as a "chapter 51" where if someone is a harm to themselves or others they are FORCED by the police to go to the hospital. if they are unable to care for themselves we have a "chapter 55" which is basically the same thing, a 72 hour hold at a hospital. i am sure your laws have something very much alike that. No wonder you got issued a citation when you were driving with a learner's permit. doooode i didnt say sh1t to you, you wana get proved wrong again??? everybody did i say sumthin 2 this little prick? "its a joke" your the one that needs 2 relax do you really have nothing better 2 do than just come up with BS that nobody gives a crap about??? nobody called you out, we were settled already with your immature "hondas rule" post. mmhmm very professional indeed oh and shogunkid was right, i absoultely do not give a flying turd about this conversation, but you keep putting gass on the fire. goddd damnnnn u sir are a MORON This post has been edited by XS4lv1Truch0x: Oct 11, 2006 - 6:58 PM -------------------- Is this good enuff 4 ya? :D

Years of dealing with people? Having just graduated college with a Chemical Engineering degree? What am I missing here? How exactly does that make you an expert on mental health? Oh wait. You're a keyboard warrior. That makes you an expert on everything. To quote YOU. If you had read the whole thread, maybe you would have figured out that it was not until the cops were called that she was determined to be a danger to herself or others. Now, feel free to go ahead and tell me how much smarter than you are, and how you won't take advice from "some dumb kid who's 18 or 19" who doesn't have "nearly the experience" that you do. It's your style and I respect that. Anybody can look good behind a keyboard. You're great at it. While you're at it, you can go ahead and mention how I didn't directly say in my original post that she was committed after the arrest, quote some other law that I'm sure you learned about somewhere because you're dazzlingly smart like that. Oh yeah, and I'm probably wrong about how much experience you have, because this ChE degree is probably your 6th undergrad degree. In fact, I'm probably all around wrong about everything. You probably grew up with a bipolar family member and have experienced this and more for years now, hence the experience. You probably have your graduate degree in Physc. I'm really happy for you. While you're at it, make a few insanely smart comments about how stupid I am and how you're not going to grace this thread with your comments any more. That way, you'll rise above it all. Insult me personally, and generally make me look like a generally wet behind the ears, fresh faced, momma's boy who knows nothing and who has experienced nothing. After all, God forbid that anyone think you just another normal human being. You're special that way. That way, everybody will still respect and applaud you when you make asshole comments about people who have mental problems. People will just let it slide because everybody knows that you're just kidding. Nobody will care that it was an asshole thing to say, or that it was rude and insensitive. Oh yeah, and don't forget to mention that I'm being overly sensitive about the whole thing. Jerkoff |
