So me and my wife were going to the store and I look over at this dealer that is on the way. Right out in front I spot a black celica. I noticed that it has the 96+ bumper and it has fogs so I'm assuming it is a GT. Well today after I get off of work I'm going to go down there and test drive it. I will post info on it and price after I look at it. If anyone is interested I can take specific pics with my phone and post them. As is I am only going to take one but could take several. Now I can't wait. By the way I am still in SoCal so if anyone from here wants to look I will post the dealer info also.

OK so I went and got a closer look.
The good: Almost stock 96 GT with new possibly Maaco quality paint.
The bad: Sideskirt falling off, headlight full of water, stock rims need refinishing, needs a new passenger side door panel ( because the previous owner thought that they could fix it with bondo???), shifter boot torn, center console top has peeled off, engine has either a bad exhaust leak or a bad bearing and the killer is that they want $6,900 for it.
I'm sorry that I posted this because this is an embarrassing Celica.

Hey I had to give it something. My wife says that I should make a list and then only offer them like $800 for it. I mean the engine, bad wheels and a shredded interior could easily bring down the price.

So yesterday I went and drove it. When the seller started it up I started my list. All total of things that would need work the total would be about $4k. I'm thinking of offering them $1k off the lot and see what they do (low retail for a 96 GT with 119k mi. is $4500). After the costs that I heard that would be about their price minus the repairs to make it a daily driver. The only good thing that I saw yesterday is that the paint job isn't low quality but it is shadowed by all of the faded moulding around the car.
