hey im just curious on what i might be able to get for my car if i were to sell it.

its a 1996 celica st, fully converted to an st205, including 3rd gen motor and AWD. it has about 74K miles on it. the clip that i bought had 65K on it so i only put about 9K on it since it was completed.
it needs a new clutch, but i just bought a stage 3 (4 puck w/ uprated pressure plate) from techniclutch. i have plans to put that in this winter.
it was just recently painted in early spring.

check out my profile for mods and pics and whatever else.

this doesnt mean im selling it, im just trying to get a feel for what i might be able to sell it for.

the other awd swap was sold for 10.5k, yours looks to be in better condition however. i think 13-14k is about right. but thats only for a celica enthusiast, good luck trying to get that much from anybody else.

Dont accept any less than 15k for this car! My friend kevin bought his for 10.5k, but his needs paint. He got a steal on it anyway. Plus, since you have the only st205 awd swap, (or at least that I know of) besides kevins, you have the market by the balls! THe question is do you really want to give up the car?... Because you will probably never own one again. The only thing I would ever sell that car for, would be a real st205 fully legalized in the US already

if i owned that car, there would be NO way i would ever sell it, period. like 4g said above, id rethink it. if you do sell it, going to be one lucky buyer.

I agree. most people that sell their Celicas just because they feel the need to move on eventually miss it and want one again. for you it wouldn't be as simple as just buying another one, that thing is one of a kind

but if you have made your decision then good luck with the sale, I wish I had the money for it... unless you want a green 97 ST biggrin.gif

lol. wow looks like some people are ready to give up some body parts for this thing. laugh.gif

ya ive thought about long and hard, but, i dont know. i think im ready to sell it. the biggest pain for me is finding the parts for it. i just dont have the time for that now with school and everything else. my life is just too nuts to be sitting in front of a computer all day looking for parts. plus, funds run pretty low when you have a $32k loan for school. man it sucks. kindasad.gif

well it doesnt really need any parts right now other than the axle which im replacing before it sells. im talking about performance stuff and what not. not only that but the drivetrain is a 95, so anything could go wrong. if something were to break or go wrong, i dont really have the time to go searching around for it, nor the money.

theres nothing wrong with it though, it runs and drives fine.

Yer, i figured from the post. Would be rude to not call it a GT4 though biggrin.gif
A guy in Cyprus did the same conversion, though i'm not sure if his was a left or right hand drive.

there are a few lhd gt-fours in europe. only till 97, i think. and i think there is only 1 other gt-four conversion and 1 jdm rhd gt-four in the states. definitely a rare car. i wish i could be the new owner.

UMnnnn I dont know ..... I think your ride is faster considering its only fwd. I would think the extra weight and differential will make it slower, but safer to drive. Yeah its very nice and there are not many out there but I have my money on your fwd version.

If FEW is about 2000-3000 then yea...

GT4 in EU was availible till 96 / 3 month i think from 94.

After 96 - GT4 was availible only in Japan. Or as the Import in UK, but yes - all of them from 96 where RHD.

Exept one with is in poland biggrin.gif 99 LHD biggrin.gif

sweet. so my chances of someday owning a lhd st-205 gt-four wrc just got a lil bit higher. now just gotta find a decent one, import it, and make it street legal. no problemo. maybe i'll just buy this "gt-four" from whoever you sell to in a few years.

I'd make a reasonable offer. Really interested. biggrin.gif
Just a matter of coming up with the Cash right away.
I have a few loans out and people are slow to pay back. rolleyes.gif
When will U Need the $$$.

There was a black conversion for sale out of Hollywood FL for over a year.
Then the 2nd time it went on Ebay, it sold off auction in week or two.
Then after less than a year, it was sold again locally up in CO pretty quick.
You can never tell when someone will have the cash available. laugh.gif

I wished I had gotten a ride when you came down to the Colt State Park meet.
Have you put the clutch in yet ? Is it driveable ? I do not live to far away to tow if I had to.
Christmas is a bad time to sell a car too.

Good luck on the sale.

well i would need the money as soon as possible. i just bought a new car and need to start paying it off. the first one to have the money will get the car. but if it means a sale then i might be able to do something.

i saw that other conversion i didnt realize that it sold twice already though. smile.gif

the clutch kit that i bought for it was gonna go in this winter but then i decided that i was going to sell it so its not really worth me putting it in. the clutch is going with the car though. it was like a $650 kit so its its a pretty decent one made for the GT-4. the clutch thats in it is'nt really that bad. it doesnt slip all the time only on ocasions when you really get on it. as of now the car is totally drivable. i recently just replaced the right side front axle. i took it for a drive and noticed a small clunking coming from somewhere in the front end. i went through it with a fine toothed comb all the mounts and everything seems fine. (nice and tight).

any spare parts that i have for it are gonna go with it too. it wont hurt to have all that extra stuff just in case something were to happen. and i realize that christmas is kinda a bad time but oh well. my bad.

if you have any other questions just hit me up.

Why are you not trying to sell it on ebay? There're people out there with the know-how to buy and upkeep the car.. not everybody is here on 6gc.

ya i know, i should put it on ebay. i just dont wanna spend a bunch of money in fee's to just have no one buy it and not make my money back.

i put a 3sgte on ebay twice and no one bought it. i ended spending something like $90 and never made the money back.

i probably will put it on there though. i'll just have to bite the bullet. wink.gif

i think the problem is no one has 13.5k laying around. dont get me wrong but 13.5k is tottaly worth your car. i would take it off your hands if i was loaded. i wouldnt be offended or anything if i was you someone will buy it eventually. people are probably saving up. i do have a question though. what are thos lines running through the hatch? sorry dont know much about awd

The lines running from the carpet to the left side quarter plastic?
Would be the fuel lines since to make room for the AWD he had to install a fuel cell since the stock GT gas tank is in the way of the drive shaft.
At least I think.

I feel that it is important to identify one particular thing and perhaps suggest a thing or two.

A while ago I took out a loan from Caputal One to buy zoom zoom's celi he would not accept check.. then lagos changed his mind and now my check expired.

99 percent of people do not have 13K lying around available in cash and if they do it is set back for a mortgage or whatever else.

So the question is. Are you willing to get cash only or other payment methods as well.. such as checks from financial institutions?

Im moving to florida in a couple of weeks so will be working on my car there with xat racing but as a person who was in market for a modified celica I would suggest diversifying your options and possibly accepting more than one method of payment.

Good luck with the sale.

ya i guess i should have specified a little more on that subject. i will take other methods of payment. i dont expect anyone to really have that much cash lying around. i'll take bank checks also. possibly money orders too. no personal checks though.

oh ya:
reducing the price to $12,750 o.b.o.
