2nd Gen JDM 3sgte

Precision Turbo FMIC
Upgraded CT26
(T04E 46 trim and 10* clip)
2.5" Aluminum Intercooler Piping
full 3" exhaust
3" (reinforced) SS Autocrap Downpipe
3" High-Flow Cat
3" Magnaflow Mufflef
Unorthodox Racing Underdrive Pulley
Centerforce stage 3 dual friction clutch

new plugs/plug wires/cap/rotor/coil

16xk miles on chassis, not sure on motor as i bought from someone on the site who bought from someone else on the site.

rear brake conversion is done new rotors/pads in back

comes with 17" scion Tc wheels with 225/45/17 khumo ecsta asx's on the back less than 500 miles on them, wheels probably need to be balanced, the place that put them on must have did it wrong because theres a slight pulsating vibration at highway speeds.

the bad:
the shell needs a paint job, right now theres a dent in the passenger side behind the door and a dent in the drivers side fender real low, the doors are also touch up painted red so its not as shiney as the rest of the car but it doesnt look bad, theres also clear coat bubling in places.

inside is pretty good, comes with a 2 gauge pillar gauge pod, and a boost gauge and a greddy profec spec b boost controller but im not sure if it works or if i hooked it up wrong but its kind of finnicky. it also has an HKS knock off BOV hooked up now that works fine.

the car has power steering but no a/c the compressor is hooked up but the lines are not, i have the lines at home the only thing youd have to buy is a condensor.

problems with engine:
nothing major, just a leak from the HFHOE caused by the clamp either wearing out and sliding down or just not being put back on correctly, im in the process of fixing it and probably can fix it by the time the car would be sold unless this goes realy quickly or something.

the exhaust manifold is leaking because the right most stud wont tighten down, its a small leak and just makes a little tapping noise when revving, i have an idea on how to fix this too but i havent gotten around to it, just letting everyone know each problem.

THE COOLANT LEAK AND EXHAUST LEAK HAVE BEEN FIXED AS OF 11/1/06 I AM LEAVING IT IN THE POST HOWEVER TO SHOW YOU HOW UPFRONT I AM ABOUT THIS CAR!

the tranny shifts fine but sometimes can be notchy, third gear clunks if you try to shift fast and hard, this would probably be fixed by switching to a good gear oil like redline. i think the shifting can be notchy at times due to the clutch needing a bleed, yet another thing i havent gotten around to.

i also think that the rear struts may be going bad as the ride is a little stiff, i was waiting to replace them because i was gonna buy some teins.

i have put a lot of time and money into this car but now that i am going to be living at college year round and i have no space to work on a car the car just sits, id like to buy a econobox daily driver and get a job and get my life on track. id say that this car would be perfect for a project car because its ready for your molding, there are no exterior modifications and its got a 3sgte swap, if the car gets a paintjob and the few small repairs are made on the engine the car would be worth way more, but im pricing this thing to sell and im also pricing it to what i think id pay for the car.

im located in towson, md.

edit: the car is red and i will try to get pics up asap, if any of you have any questions feel free to post here i will answer anything you need to know about this car because i pretty much know every bolt on it.

price is 4500 as said in title, i feel this is fair considering there are a lot of good aspects of the car and it could be daily driven, it passed maryland state inspection like 3 months ago and i havent really driven it much since then.

It seems like all these problems are small enough for you to fix before selling it, I am interested, but dont wanna buy a car from a guy who isnt even willing to work out the small problems, Id hoped you would have taken care of this thing. I know you put a lot of hard work into it, and i will be following this as you update it with the problems fixed.

one of the main reasons for me selling this is that im getting tired of having a car to tinker with i just want a car i can drive every day, im not saying this has been unreliable but its no grocery getter.

i am 100% upfront with the problems i posted and will offer any more information i may have up, i will attempt to fix the problems it does have this week though and get back to you.

i do however feel comfortable in saying that there are no undiagnosed problems on this car, each tiny little imperfection and flaw is accounted for.

sh*ts weak brian, sh*ts weak frown.gif

This is a good deal for whoever buys this car. He has put a lot of time and money into it. I know this because I was there with him for a majority of it. Good luck with the sale Brian.

Not to be a buzzkill, but the exhaust manifold bolt that won't tighten, that's most likely at the very least going to necessitate the removal of the manifold/turbo/downpipe to get a tap in the bolt hole. Depending on the condition of the threads, you may or may not be able to repair with a simple tap. If not, it's going to need to be drilled and have a helicoil installed, which I'm not sure if there's room in the engine bay to do that so the head may have to come off too.

Of all the problems you've listed, that's the worst. The rest seems to be just minor stuff. This car sounds like an outstanding opportunity to jump into the GTE world for a great price.

you dont have to remove the turbo to remove the manifold, but well leave that to another thread.
edit: if it did come down to helicoiling it the head would not need to be removed...

your advice is well received fastbird but if you are going to add something like that to the thread then atleast be accurate, i replaced the manifold without taking off the turbo or downpipe and not a single stud hole would require the removal of the head to retap/helicoil.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

That's why I said I wasn't sure if the head had to come off. I just never bothered to see if there was room in there to get a drill to get things done. My bad.

in all seriousness if thats a word, this car is a blast to drive. It is kinda... silly quick. You dont really expect it, and it hits and it really is a lot of fun.

So at least come and test drive it, even at 8psi it will put a smile on your face.

And im sure we can all arrange personal delivery along the east coast, all i want is gas money:)

changed the oil 2 days ago to mobil 1 synthetic 10w30 and a mobil 1 filter, also changed the transmission oil to syncromesh and it shifts a lot smoother now.

not to hijack. but you guys running straight synchromesh.. isnt that oil a little lightweight for what our trannies were designed for? just curious it sounds like ATF in a manual designed for 80 weight.

synchromesh is only bad for transmissions with yellow gears because they require a certain sulfur content, our transmission do not have yellow gears so the synchromesh is fine. and syncromesh if it were converted would be equal to about an 80w transmission oil.
