Directed Electronics has the python series of alarms, some of which are upgradable with real time GPS tracking for just such a case. I had one on my 5th gen...too bad it was pointless since it was totaled and went straight to the junkyard about a month after i got it.

website is www.directed.com

the other thing to do is etch EVERY aftermarket part somewhere with an identifying mark, and document with pictures. if you do any bodywork, use the opportunity to etch the vin a few secret places as weel. always take pictures.

just don't leave them in the car smile.gif
