Ive tried to clear my code 54 like it says in the sticky by jumping the coolant level sensor but after i turn the car back on the light is still on. Do i have to reset the ecu? or should i be jumping it with a resistor?

btw i also didnt have the relay for the pump and as such had to wire it in. the three wires going back to the ecu are all fed back in and looking at the ewd the way i have it wired shouldnt affect anything.

any ideas?

Do you have something wired in to fool the ECU that the pump is in place?

no need as the three wires (no the ground and power ones) are fed back into the harness and thus back into the ecu.

First off, you're not supposed to be jumping the coolant temp sensor. You're supposed to be jumping the water level sensor of the IC core.

After that you need to either have the pump wired in EXACTLY like it was in the ST205 or you need to make this simple circuit:

opps i meant level my bad its fixed thanks

i looked at the link and it looks like thats what i would do if i had my relay box for the pump there. but i dont.

i looked at the ewd and it showing the ground going back to a ground. the positive going to a relay which i have just hooked up to a positive side of the efi relay.

the other three wires are diffrent colors then that in the link however on the ewd i have fed them back to the ecu plug just as the diagram shows.

the only think i could figure is that the relay is opened and powered by i think a fuse which now isnt a part of a complete curcuit. I have not yet checked to c if that fuse feeds back into the ecu, but if it does then perhaps thats what is throwing the code?

the way i see it is that i have power going to the pump and thus the three other wires, which from the other link above, monitor the pump are being fed back into the ecu.

I basicall have the three wires from the pump wired up just as it says to in the edw. they go from the pump to the wiring loom EAI or what ever that thing is called (at work and dont have the diagram to look at)

the only thing not hooked up the correct way would be the positive and ground as i have grounded it via the other grounds from the efi relay and im drawing power from the efi relay which turns on and off just as the water pump relay does.

hummm i think i know where the ecu isnt getting power from.

i think its the blue wire on pin one on the EA1 plug. thats the wire that powers and closes the curcuit for the IC relay.

ill try to work on it later

blah

well the blue wire that goes from the start switch, through the relay, and into the ecu has been connected to the efi relay just as it would be with the waterpump relay.

but i still have the code 54 even with level sensor bypassed.

the only thing i can thing of is that since im darwing power for the water pump itselft from a diffrent sorce instead of the CDS 30a fuse perhaps the power going to the water pump now is diffrent in some way. amps or current wise perhaps i duno.

so later on im going to try drawing power from the cds fuse jsut as it would be on the st205. instead of getting power from the efi relay when it closes.

any other ideas would be super helpful.

thanks
