How ironic- my old store needed someone to fill in this morning and now here I am with net acess again rolleyes.gif Well I was gunna ask this anyway in my own thread but what the hell...

anyways, my car has an original windshield with a lot of fine scratches and nicks thanks to the wipers over the years and such, and driving to work in the rain today was not so fun because of all those abrasions and the water filling them in... My question is this- Is it a good idea to get a new windshield to fix that problem or does having a new windshield installed come with it's own set of problems? I've heard that sometimes you can get really bad wind noise or they get leaky, etc... Before anyone says rainX or somthing like it, it's on there, and it dosent do much...

I dunno. I would think a new windshield wouldn't be a problem. its just glass and silicone. As long as its done well, it should be fine, right?

Woohoo for one last bout of warm weather before it gets freaking cold outside.

Aside fro washington state getting record rain and almost record snowfall in the same month span or so... anything else interesting out there in the world. Cincinnati is quite boring right now

This is how the weather is affecting the area

My friend left work at 5pm and its usually a 45 min drive home and she didnt get home till 11:30pm

My coworker left at 4pm and its usually a 35 min drive and she didnt get home till 10:30pm

Another coworker left at 5:30pm and its usually a 30 min drive and he didnt get home till 1am

A seahawk fan left the game at 10pm last night and as of like 8am this morning was only about 120 miles away from where he had left at 10pm last night. He still had 90 more miles to go till he was home.

Correction: Snow doesn't cause cars to rust. It is caused by the salt and other chemicals that are put on the road to combat ice and snow.

yeah its a pain, gotta wash it right after the snow and ice go away, but its tough cause of the cold water which can freeze in places and cause its own problems...

You said it! At least i got the day off work since i couldn't get my celi out of the driveway without putting the exhaust underwater! Since we are at sealevel, it was like this throughout most of the downtown.

Not much really. When i lived in Washington, we got more. But one of the problems with 3rd world countries is that the infastructure is not really there yet, i.e. drainage! As i stated before, i'm at sea level and all the water from higher up needs to go somewhere. it took two days for me to be able to get my car out, and a week and a half for my yard to be visible again.

As far as I know, providing the engine is running before the exhaust goes underwater it should be ok. gases will keep water from filling exhaust up. Make sure you keep water out of the intake side though. Don't stall it while exhaust is underwater either!

That was what i was worried about. The flooded dirt road goes on about 3 blocks to get to an intersecting main road. So on top of water, i had to worry about getting stuck in the mud! i wasn't too confident about making it all the way through without stalling it.
