I've been driving around with a funny noise in the engine for about a week now. I was too lazy to pop the hood and check it but I did today and turns out that my Tensioner Belt is loose. I was wondering if anyone could tell me any expected damages to the engine. I could fix this myself but I can't see any way to tighten it but I can't seem to get my hands through the even have a good grip on anything becuz the distance from the tensioner, belt, and firewall is about 2-3 inches. kindasad.gif I'm affraid I might have to lift the engine out of the bay to work on the belt Belt Tensioner. Any help of information is most appreciated.

mine was squealing and as it turns out, it flew out of the car while traveling on the highway. Tensioner bearing flew, bolt that hold it flew, belt flew and god hope the guy behind me didn't get hit.

Which belt are you referring to? The timing belt or the alt.? Power steering? If its the 7a-fe or 4a-fe you can tighten the timing belt tensioner hold down bolt through the cover. There is a rubber cap you can remove and use a 10mm socket to torque it.

Nevermind. I fixed it. Was a piece of cake. I was just over reacting and paranoid becuz I've been having bad luck with my car lately. Been getting mad at her becuz I've been buying replacement parts instead of aftermarkets.

BTW, my belt tensioner fell out of the engine bay. I didn't have it so my AC compressor belt was loose. Did no damage, no engine check light, nothing. So I went ahead and bought a new tensioner and everything is fine now. PHew!
