I just notice my rear brakes arent working...I brake on ice and my buddies says my rear wheels dont lock (I dont have abs)...I guess my calipers are stuck
Just a heads up to any Canadian that might want to check their brake on their ooooooooold car. Braking on ice is an easy diagnostic This post has been edited by Rayme: Jan 1, 2007 - 7:39 PM -------------------- ![]() -Rémy 02 SiR, 08 250R |

You do realise that brakes on a FWD car are heavily biased towards the front wheels.....to get the back wheels to lock up you would really have to stamp on the brakes quite hard....even on ice.

all cars are going to be heavily biased towards the front. all the weight of the car shifts towards the front when braking.
If they weren't biased towards the front the rear end would always lock up.... try using your e-brake to stop.... doesn't take much to make the rear lock. This post has been edited by wind: Jan 2, 2007 - 2:37 PM |

if you think the calipers are frozen then watch them as someone pumps the pedal, you should see them squeeze and let go.
