I know this is in the forum somewhere, but I cant find it all. I need a new transmission. I have a 3sgte swap in my 1995 celica gt. I destroyed 5th gear in my S54 trans. Im leaning towards the solara manual trans. e-153. Can anyone tell me exactly what I need for this to work in my car. I know the clutch will just be a regular 3sgte setup. But Im confused on the motor/transmission mounts. Will the gt shifter cables work? How does the st205 mount up in the rear? I think I need an mr2 axle setup and make a hybrid axle with the st185 axles. Also will I need the spacers for the axles? I also have a awd st185 transmission and transfer case in my garage. I need this setup fast! I would REALLY appriciate any direction. Thanks!

Could everyone that has a 3sgte swap using an e-153 trans. make a list of what mods they had to do to make the trans. work? Please. I gotta get my daily driver back on the road. Thanks

E153 trans
custom trans mounts or st205 front and rear
mr2 inner axle shafts and carrier bearing
celica st185 outer axles
st205 or alltrack shift linkage pieces that replace the mr2 stuff and slecetor forks "part that has to be tapped"
quarter/ ultra grey or any silicone
tap and drill

As for the extra spacer and gt shifter cables;I am still waiting to see if I need these parts. It shifts into all gears smoothly with the st cables and I need to drive the car this spring to check the axles. If there is going to be a problem.
Search forced induction for e153 conversion all the info you will need with pics. thanks lance

Yeah the st cables seem to let it shift freely. also rjb or whatever is also using st cables. I have not drove mine yet but it all seems to be working well.
