So earlier tonight at a little past 7PM on February 3, 2007 on my way to my cousin's wedding dinner with my gf and bro, I became a Celica sandwich on 45 South. frown.gif Traffic came to a stop on the highway, so the Evo 8 in front of me came to a stop and I came to a stop, but guess what? The ***** in the Solara behind me didn't!! mad.gif So after exchanging information, we hung around and waited for the cops to show up. She seemed to give out her insurance info pretty easily like she has just accomplished a goal that's she's set for a long time. In the mean time, my brother was taken off to the hospital to be checked on and so did one of the passengers from the Evo. While waiting, the ***** had the f****n' nerve to come up to me and ask, "So what're we waiting for and who are you guys calling?" mad.gif

Anyways, onto pics.

There you go. pictures explain themselves. the dude in the Green Bay Packers jacket is my brother-in-law and former owner of the Celica. All in all, my car's being towed to an open lot; The lady's going to jail due to a suspended liscence, and I just spent 5 hours at the hospital waiting for my brother to be discharged. I hope my gf's gonna be fine in the morning. I know I'm gonna be sore as f**k in the morning.

Anyways, I think I'll be buying the car back from insurance and will be parting it out along with possible my GT-4 conversion. If anyone needs anything from the interior, let me know. I seriously have a MINT interior. Driver's seat shows no wear at all.

After all this, I don't know if I want to pick up another Celica, or maybe go after the Mk3 Supra that I've always wanted. If I do pick up another Celica, it'll probably have to be an All-trac or another 6gc for sure. I really loved this car and it saddens me to see it in this state and to possibly let it go. frown.gif

I think that's it for the night. I'll post more later on when I get some info. I need to call her insurance company in hopes that they can set me up with a rental car so I can go to school and work.

-Alex

Farewell, T-Spoon. You shall be missed by all those that loved and adored you. RIP (2/3/07)

yeah, i'm gonna try and make it to the meet. I'll hitch a ride with someone unless I can pick up another car by then.

as for the rims; yeah. I think I'ma sell'em. they're wrapped with 205/50-16 Hankook Ventus V4 ES tires. They're pretty new with ~3000 miles on'em. I got'em back in early December of '06.

Because Celicas are beautiful. Only the beautiful ones get hurt. That's the sadness of this world.

PMs replied to.

As of 2AM central division time, both insurance companies have been notified of the accident. I don't want her to call into her company before me to make up some BS story to get out of it, but I don't think she really can when she's spending the night in jail...

"HIS CAR IS ****ED!! WHATS IT LOOK LIKE?!"

Lady: Oh, so you guys aren't hurt, just pissed?

"ARE U ****ING KIDDING ME?!"

No kidding. lol. I've gotten PMs from 4 different people already about parts.

as for the airbags, they didn't deploy, so i don't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

I hope i get enough to pick up this All-trac that's on the other side of town.

looks like when i got into an accident, the EVO at the front of the pack slammed on its brembo brakes to not run a red, then everyone else slammed theres, i saw the tail lights of the mazda 3 infront of me light up, i slammed my brakes....and had JUST stopped (suspension hadnt settled yet thankgod) when i hear SCREEECH WHAM! the 2000 V6 eclipse behind me went right under my car about 2 feet, ****ing his hood and busting the top off his radiator and pushing me into the 3 a little bit.

no one was hurt, but my GF got a little bruise across her shoulder from the seatbelt and the force of me stoping. i had myself pressed hard back against the seat, head planted to the headrest.

to those asking for parts, i have no idea about what prices i'm setting yet, so don't bother about that. just ask if anyone's gotten dibs on it yet. once everything settles with insurance, I will start listing prices.

Damn. I'm so sorry. I felt so bad for you when I got your text the other night. That car was the only 6th Gen in town that ever gave my car a descent run. Hope you get the Al-trac but MKIII Supra T would be sweet as well. Just go for the Turbo car this time. Much cheaper in the long run than what we had planned.
I'm not gonna vulture you for parts. You know what I need if you decide to sell. Man - Am I the only tuner GT in town now? That sucks bad.

You know I think T-spoon is fixable. The damage was mainly the fluffy trunk not the unibody or the rails. Yes the rails in the very rear might be bent upward but not twisted. I bet the bumper bar kept them in line for the most part and just allowed the rear of the car to move upward, similar to my recent wreck. I think from the begining of the spare tire rack back is bad but fixable.

yeah, i don't think insurance will repair it due to the age factor.

I feel crappier now. my TRD shift knob and my DCW triple gauge pod came in today, but I don't have a car to put them into anymore. frown.gif

Damn, Alex. Buying much stuff for the car lately? Maybe we should just start looking for a newer GT for you. Maybe Hatch this time? Let me know if you need help finding one or else unloading some of those parts.
You know you always have the option of salvaging the car and using the insurance money to repair it. Won't be worth anything if you try to sell it but I don't see you doing that anyway. To bad it wasn't the front that go hurt. You already have the parts you needed for that wink.gif

true that. i have an interested buyer that wants my gauge pods. i'm keeping the shift knob. There's an All-Trac in Sugarland that i wanna take a look at this weekend. sure it may not be as sexy as the oh so gorgeous 6gc, but it's got the power I've always wanted to put into the car.

all-trac?

For gods sake yes and get it to my house ASAP so we can go over it with a fine tooth comb. My last Celica should have been an al-trac [had the choice between an red '92 al-trac m/t and a blue '95 6th gen GT auturd - chose looks over what I really wanted rolleyes.gif Turbo AWD] and your bro had that al-trac abd both of us kick ourselves still for what we had.
Just get it - there's no car in the world like a GT4! Not Supra, not MR2 - nothing.

You can help pitch in to get me one till insurance comes along. lol. The dude wants $6200 for it, but David thinks it's worth less (~$5500) cuz it doesn't have leather seats, the rear bumper needs a repaint, and it has 155K miles. David's All-Trac when he got it had a very clean paint, leather seats, and I think something like 94K miles and paid $6700 for it.

IDK about the paint but it was def worth the price. That's only a $700 diff. Maybe he will go for it. he mileage is a little scary - has the turbo been rebuilt? I can loan you a Turbo so you can drive while one is being rebuilt if you want.

I'm at a lost now. I don't know what to do. I'm about to cry. I just got a letter from Geico that said:

"We have completed our coverage invertigation for the above loss. Please be advised that there is no coverage for the above referenced loss under our policyholder's Geico Indemnity policy. As such, we will be unable to make payment to you."

I don't know how to feel right now. I'm pissed off, I'm sad, depressed. I don't know what to do....

Well, if her policy doesn't cover that, which I don't see why it wouldn't because even liability only would, I'd say take the owner of the car to court. Don't let this drop mang.

Ugh, I have a bad feeling that she was NOT cited and the cop left it up to insurance to fight about it. That's why I was asking you whether she was cited or not. In any event, should be able to sort it out, just won't be as smooth as could be hoped for. Don't worry, call you after a bit. Some insurance companys are pretty ****ty about that sort of thing, either Geico is one of them or they have bad info that we'll have to get corrected.

I had an accident last October and I had my insurance take care of it for the simple fact that Allstate refused to do anything until they heard from their client which he never contacted them til this day. So now State Farm and Allstate are fighting with each other and I am waiting on my refund of my deductible.

So g/l man.

My mom was in a similar incident, she stopped, but the utility van behind her couldnt get stopped and a brand new volvo behind the van didnt even hit the brakes. The other insurance companies were arguing about who's car did what damage etc. However, our insurance company cut us a check to get it fixed and then took the other 2 insurance companies to court. So hang in there man, ATLEAST at the very least, your still breathing and at the end of the day that is what matters. cheers mate
