Hey now, looks can be very deceiving. Think about it, if cnelson had a 3sgte in his car while looking the way it is, what do you think most guys would think? "Oh it's just a stock celica, I could take that with my Civic SI no problem." And next thing you know, Vroom, psst! His car smokes the s*** out of the civic (see where i'm getting at).

but thats not the case in this situation.

cnelson, try to photograph the best parts of the car at the best angles. we didnt really get to see much of your car in these pics.

gettin there, exterior wise, some nice rims are REALLY gonan add to the turning head factor, i got some lights & rims & tint for exterior, and ppl are always watchin me drive by. but deff aim for power first, i hate not having that to back this car up n lately i dont have time to work on it anything in depth.

always good to take lots of pics, see how far you've come =)

Well i believe the order in exteror work will go like this;

1: New tiers, and some rims
2: Full windown tint
3: Paint
4: Lowering

And this weekend i'm going to get HID's off ebay (yeah the fake ones cause i'm cheap, but there'll work)

So why didnt you put it in the photograph?

If theres a great sunset use it to get great color on the car, while putting the entire car in the picture. The second pic IDK what you were trying to do. The focus is clearly the tire marks but honestly, nobody cares about tire marks. Third pic you took the picture from the wrong side. Get the entire Celica in the picture with the fronts of the other cars in the background. This is just simple critique, please dont take it personally.

Get a photo-editing program. That camera seems about 2mp and shows terrible graininess.

IPB Image

Always remember the rule of thumb, you get what you pay for. Ebay HIDs arent the greatest.

I also think your list is odd. I'd immediately say pass on the tint, paint? What for, going to cost you an arm and a leg and unless your car really needs it, dont do it. Lowering and some tasteful rims does wonders for the car. My 8th grade teacher always said, KISS - keep it simple stupid.

it may of been grainy looking because i did photoshop i think i shaperened it to much.. and i'm just getting use to the camera just got it yesterday (sony cibershot, 7.2 mp) And you can't tell my the pictures but the paint on my hood is chipping bandly, and the front bumber paint doesn't match because the guy before me tried to re-paint it himself and its a shade darker than the orignal.

And don't worry i won't take anything personaly. This is my first try at photographing my car so i'll take all the adivce i can get! Thanks. -cnelson. smile.gif

Oh and about the ebay thing, i know you get what you pay for but, after talking to pitfirefighter about them he said he loved his.. and i figure for 19 bucks (with shipping and handleing) That i can always just put my old ones back in if i don't like em or they don't work. Other than that i thought i might as well give em a try. -cnelson. smile.gif

Yeah oversharpening can severely detriorate the photoquality. 7.2mp is by far enough megapixels to where you shouldnt have to do that.

After reading the HID forums before I bought my HIDs I read that everyone says dont skimp out on the ballasts if you want a good long lasting and reliable setup.

Also remember that your headlights are for seeing. You may enjoy this superbright "look" but visibility might not increase, or maybe even decrease as the case for going TOO bright with HIDs. I recommend Silverstars. $20 a pop but they are quality and have a nice, clean look to them. But g'luck with these.

What rims were ya planning to get and how much do you want to spend on rims? I hope you don't get 14's because you'll probably reget it later. Check your local craigslist. I'm sure you'll be able to find used wheels + tires for cheap.
If you're looking for bulbs to replace your stock yellow ones, I recommend MTEC Cosmo Blue bulbs. I have them on my car for a little over a year now and I love them. They give off a nice white light with a slight blue tint. VERY NICE. I didn't notice any change in visibility though.

thumbsdown.gif on white mirrors. If you are going to paint the car, paint the whole damn car. Not all and have white mirrors. That would look tacky.

I have Turquoise Pearl.

IMO wait on the rims. Sounds silly getting new rims for the spring and then getting more for summer. Save your cash and get one set of rims.

Also, if you plan on changing the color of your car, are you going to paint the door jambs, trunk, and engine bay? For a good paint job which includes all prep work etc its going to cost you $4-5k. You can go to the local Maaco and get something for 2 but they dont do prep work so thats up to you. You can always do the engine bay etc on your own in flat black so it doesnt stand out like red vs. blue would.

I also concur with 95Celi on the white mirrors. That will look tacky.

Yeah maybe the white mirrors where a bad idea. And i'm going to wait on the rims for now at least.. and so the paint.. I am going to bring it to macco because like you said it would be 4 or 5 grand otherwise.. And i guess i'll have to live with the door jams and what do you mean by the trunk? I mean the whole reason i'm going to paint is because my paint is chipping now and i want to get it a differant color.. However i don't have the money to spend an extrem ammount of money on the paint.. its my frist car and i'm trying to make it work the best i can.. maybe down the raod i can get a top of the line paint job.. for now i just want something that will look nice for a couple years...

I know everyone's probably like "poser".. but i mean if i had 4 or 5 grand to just kick away i would.. But i just don't have it.. and i have to save for collage. So for now i guess it will have to do.. i'm sure if i pay macco there'll paint he door jams, and what again do you mean by the trunk?

And about the egine bay me and my friend were going to paint it ourself's when it gets warmer out..

-cnelson.

What we mean by door jams ,under the hood, trunk etc. is the area that you cannot see when it is closed. For example, if I were going to buy a car and the owner says it has a new paint job, I would look along the inside of the hatch/trunk to see the color difference. Under the hood is the other real common place to see this. If you want the paintjob to be cheaper I suggest doing the prep work by yourself. Sand the paint down and shoot the whole car with primer. Maaco does not do a good job on prep work.
