Illinois/chicagoland Meet, Cancelled due to weather Options

Hey guys and gals,
Fanboy and myself have been talking about having another meet this spring. We are planning on having it at Starved Rock State Park in Utica, IL again. As of right now the plan is to meet at Starved Rock around 3pm on Saturday April 14th 2007, take some group shots while its still light out, have a BBQ in which i will supply the meat, then once dusk comes around take a short drive over to Ottawa, IL and take some night pictures and check out everyones neons etc. Hopefully this date will work for everyone and considering im posting this up over a month in advance, i would hope most of you could take off of work and come to this fabulous gathering! I would like to keep it to 6gc members but if you know a friend who has a Toyota and wants to come, they are more then welcome! Thanks for looking everyone and i hope to see alot of 6gc's there. Depending on the weather, I will be there with my '03 GSXR. It isn't the Celica, but i've never been out to starved rock on my bike, and it has some really nice straights on the way out there. My friend may also show up with me. It'd still be nice to see some Celicas.

I'll probably or proably not come by, even though i done nothing to my celica but i just probably show up to check out other 6GC member's rides and be in a group pics with you all.

so it's a 50/50 chance i show up since it'll be my first time showing up to a 6GC meet.

i got the directions to Starved Rock State Park at google map and it shows around 2hrs and 13 minutes of driving so it isn't bad...it's like 121 miles from my place to Starved Rock State Park.

I'll be without the Celica though....Was supposed to get the 3s into the celica, wired and running this week but due to a motor mount issue, and my mechanic moving shops at the end of this month...things didn't go as planned... But i'll be there none the less.

OK guys the date is fast approaching! Since there has not been much activity since the end of march, i want to get an updated list of who's almost definitely coming to the meet. In addition next to your name, add the following information:

a.) How many people are coming, including yourself, so i can get an estimate of how much food to bring. I was thinking of bring hamburgers and polish. Does anyone have any problems with this? I could also bring hotdogs in place of the polish if more people want dogs versus polish.

b.) What you are planning on bringing. I have a small propane grill that i will bring along with the food. We need members to bring the following items: Soda, water, Plates, napkins, utensils, chips, condiments, desserts?, hamburger buns, hot dog buns. If there is something that you want to bring or think needs to be brought feel free to ask.

The tentative plans for the day are as follows:
- Meet at Starved Rock State Park in between 2 and 3 pm on Saturday April 14th
- BBQ, meet with other members, eat, take some pictures
- Around dusk drive east down route 71 into Ottawa, IL for some more pictures

So here is the list, any questions feel free to post in here or send me a PM. I will add where we are meeting inside of Starved Rock and such closer to the day. Thanks and cant wait to see you all at the meet!

Umm it depends how bad it looks. If they are calling for rain, i will check the radar in the morning and depending on how its looking..i will make the call in the morning. But hopefully we wont even have to worry about it.

Yes that is fine. We have plenty of food. If you really want to bring chicken you can. Otherwise i think were pretty well covered. I have burgers and dogs for grilling and condiments for them.

For those who came to the last meet, I am going to try and get the same spot we had as before, or at least right around that area. For those that have not come before.. here are the best directions i can give..
- Enter from Route 178 into Starved Rock State Park
- Follow the road into the park.
- When you see a sign for heading toward the boat docks, make a left (I believe it is the first left you can make off of that road)
- Take that road and head right once it comes to a "Y"
- We should be somewhere in that area just look for a black convertible and that will be my car.
