trying to explain the import culture to some one..., ...to some one who hasnt ever been near it. Options

Ok, so i have a friend of mine from school who has a 94 dodge intrepid and is gonna be sellin it soon and wants to get into imports. He has never been into imports b4 untill he met me/saw my car. So any ways, hes thinking about gettin an acura integra, but he wants to soup it up. He has never been into the import culture what so ever, so he doesnt know whats been done, what hasnt been done, whats cool whats not. Pretty much he wants to put MR7s on his car, rock some big ugly bodykit, some weird colour paint, and do his interior all custom colour coded to his exterior and do the typical B18 swap into it. Like your generic run of the mill every day riced out integra and im tryin 2 tell him that now a days ppl are more into the JDM and VIP look, but he doesnt belive me.

Like im all for personal style...but hes tellin me that this car is gonna b a show stoppin head turning stupid fast car...and im tryin 2 tell him that what hes trying to do has been done 100000000000000000000....*10 min later*..000000000 times b4. Like this guys about to dump $10K into buyin and doing up this car, and im just tryin 2 get him to open his mind up about other cars and what cool in the import culture right now.

How would u explain this to some one who has had no connection to the import culture so far except playing need for speed underground games and watchin the fast and the furious movies??

Whats cool is what he likes. I like JDM and OEM stuff, but that might not be
your or his personal favorite. If it looks retarded people will let him know.

let him learn what will make people laugh at him. I personally like the stockish look. Lip kit only. Stock looking spoiler, 16-17in wheels. same colored interior... maybe some CF overlays.. non of that two tone.. accents..

show him pictures of clean looking cars that dont need rice to look good. Here are a couple personal favorites of mine (a little biased cause a few of these belong to friends) http://www.showstoppersusa.com/gallery.php Show him that theres a way to be flashy but in a sublte way and using good quality parts brand name parts. Because half the time they will look better than the knock off crap. Good luck to you and your friend... hopefully you could steer him away from a disaster.
