They're 6.5" and you have to grind some ridges on the stock brackets to get them to fit. Don't bother buying 6x9"s, just buy some good 6.5s. Besides, you'd probably need to make another bracket to fit them.

Agreed.... 6x9's arent worth the hassle of modifying the panels to make them fit.

Depending on what 6.5" you get you may not even have to cut the stock mounts in the rear.

I don't see how that's possible. Yes, the hole is the appropriate dimension, but there are some grooves that keep the speaker from sitting right. you will have to grind those down.

If you get shallow mount speakers, or in my case I got Infinity Kappa speakers that are high quality low profile speakers you should be fine. I installed mine without any problems or having to do any grinding.

My R-F Fanatic Series Component 6.5"s fit just fine. You just can't use 1 screw and it doesn't cause any rattles or anything. Don't worry so much about this. It will work.

Yeah I wouldn't worry I was able to use all my screws, guess it just depends on the speakers you buy, but it's nothing serious.
