Any one in the Detroit area know whats up today??, what was with the jets?? Options

So i got out of class today, walking through the parking lot with my friends and then all of a sudden 6 F16 fighter jets go flying by. We thought maybe they were taking off from the airforce base near detroit, but they kept ciricling around for like 2 hours. Any one know what was up with that/saw it?? I thought somethin might have happened at the boarder or a terrorist threat happened or somethin. But checked the news, nothing, drove down to the river, nothing different at the bridge. Any ways, just curious if any one knows what happened/why they were flying around.

Could just be doing drills, Selfridge Air National Guard is up near Mount Clements and Anchor Bay

ok..now i have been told by other ppl it was for the Tiger's home opener..but they were flying around for a few hours. But i think they were also beefin up the boarder...apparently in the summer the coast gaurd is gonna be partrolling the river and areas around detroit on fully armed gun boats So i dunno. but any one else heard about beefing up the boarder security?
