Members' Rides Section, Question for you guys Options

Hi,
I was just working on the members' rides section, and I just implemented an option so that you can list only rides with at least one photo, and I had another idea. What do you guys think of me implementing a system so that only a chosen number of members' rides are displayed per page, since there are quite a few rides on there now. Then you would be able to change the number of rides displayed in the form on that page and there would be navigation links at the bottom of the page to view more pages if there are more pages. What do you guys think of this idea?

Also, I considered implementing a ratings sort of thing, but then remembered all the troubles that we had with that on the old site. Some of the nicest rides would get the lowest ratings. Can you guys think of any ways to set up some sort of rating or ranking system for the site?

i think those are good ideas, cause their are like a bunch of people in members ride and most dont have pics, and it be koo to rate each others car but since we all have the same ride we prolly be giving each other 10's all the time but its koo.

yea implament a rating system, i had an idea i had proposed an idea when this site was up the 1st time (before the server problems and all that).

i suggested that we should have a rating system that resets itsself every month, and those cars that recieve the highest ratings are "featured car of the month" and are displayed with a breif exerpt as a caption that would be placed on the main page of 6gc.net. by reseting it every month it lets people update their pics with new mods and allows their ratings to go up or down along with the mods and keeps everything more up to date. plus it would encourage people to update their pics and profile as often as possable! then we could do a section of "past featured car of (month)" etc, and that would link to their profile/pic page. we just need to do this in a way that makes it fun and not really as competitive. no voting on your own car! lol. and maybe have a comment spot for, if you choose, to write why you gave it the rating you did.

also i think the paging idea would be good, maybe sort the page by last months overall rating stated above...

the rating thing sounds cool. I would like to have a thing where we can only see profiles with pics in them. Since most of them don't have pics. Also I would love to see a featured member of the month thing.

Check out the members' rides section. It's already done. Also, the ratings resetting monthly would be a good idea, and I'll need to work on implementing a ride of the month section or something. Thanks for the ideas guys.

oh and also, i donno if you changed this or what yet but, i think that you shouldnt need to be a member to view the reader rides, cuz i wanna show some of my friends my ride with the list of mods, but i always hafta send them to imagestation cuz my profile here is blocked unless they log on...

yeah i agree wit k2 about having to be a memeber to see members rides, cause most of my friends wanna see my car online and they always complain like they have to log on to see pics.

That's a good idea that I'll have to set up soon. I guess I didn't think about that when I initially setup the site. I'll do this soon for you guys.

I just modified the site's backend so that you no longer have to be logged in in order to view member profiles. Hopefully soon I'll work on the car rating stuff and a ride of the month sort of thing.
