I hate the way the rain drips in from the roof if the windows are open a bit. I hate the way the cigarette lighter fouls the gearstick. And I hate the silly clips that hold in the parcel shelf. They fall out and then I loose them.

When your in a car you drive....If your gonna talk on the phone/eat/smoke...either find a way to do it WITHOUT it affecting your judgement or pull off the road. When you drive you drive.

Who is this aimed at? If it's at me then perhaps you should re-read my post to see the tongue in cheek humour. If not then no worries wink.gif

LOL, that's me in trouble then - we don't have highways wink.gif

In the UK you get 3 points and a £60 fine if caught on the phone by the police (12 points and you loose your license) so basically it is treated as strongly as minor speeding biggrin.gif

And manphibian - your an Amateur if your only reading the paper - a mate of mine who is in the traffic police stopped a woman who had a calculator strapped to her thigh for weaving dangersouly - turned out she was doing number crosswords whilst driving laugh.gif

wow....people tend to forget that when you drive you are in control of your life and the lives of others. A two ton hunk of steel driven at 60 MPH should not be driven with a uncaring demeanor.

There isn't anything wrong about having a drink. The whole thread is about the horrible placement of the cup holder.

I was on some backroad and I had just gotten off work. I had my nice Dockers on and I had a pair of jeans in the car as well. I put the cruise on at like 40mph and the rest pretty much explains itself.

I remember someone had put in a 1/2 din cupholder slide-out below their Cd player, but with the angle of our dash I'm not sure how good it would be.

I was on my way to school today (What school has saturday morning classes??!?!) and I saw some girl doing her makeup down the road... going 20 in a 45. The guy in front of me got over in front of her and slammed on his brakes. She had to swerve into a parking lot so she wouldn't hit him. Serves her right. Park in a damn parking spot and do your makeup... or wake up earlier.

why? You are not trying to gain or lose speed with Cruise so why would it be a problem at all? Mine works rather well.

Why is it awkward? Cruise control is for cruising, not for between shifts.

If you put in the clutch, hit the brakes, or give it gas it will shut off.

back on topic, kinda:

you guys should try owning a german car (mercedes or porsche, specifically)...they don't have cupholders at all. just a couple divots on the inside of the glove compartment door. you can only use them when the car isn't moving.

just imagine an angry arnold schwarzenegger voice saying "no, you CANNOT enjoy your beverage while piloting ziss exquisite german automobile!"
