Alright, after lots of reading and whatnot, i have seen that when you take an ST and try to swap the 3sgte you have to remap all your mounts and have a lot of custom fab you have to do.

with that said, couldnt you do the same for a 4g63? (engine from Eagle Talons, Mitsubishi Eclipse, and EVO 8) i know it wouldnt be cheap, but neither is a 3s swap.

what do you guys think about it?

3sgte swap is like 25% of a mitsu swap

whoever said you have to "remap" (<-wtf is this?!) all your engine mounts lied
you only have to drill 2 holes for 1 engine mount on ur passenger side otherwise all the other 3 mounts bolt into existing locations

so there is like "custom fab" if you consider 30 seconds worth of drilling "a lot"

go back read more smile.gif

but to techincally answer your question....yes it can be done...but expect to pay 4 times the amount or more of a 3sgte

yeah, but parts for the 4g are so much cheaper, you can replace it super cheap. and im not talking about a 4g63t just a NA 4g63. in the end do you guys think the time would be worth it?

to go through all that trouble.. for the NA version of the motor? no it wouldnt be worth it at all. you wouldnt gain anything from it .

if you want a 4g63 under the hood ,just buy a 2g dsm. it even looks kind of like the celica.

LOL oh yeah. My friend has a eagle talon TSi and that thing is broken already. When ever he shifts tons of white smoke comes out of the exhaust. I really hate DSM(dip **** motors) car there a real pieces of crap in my opinion.

The swap will prob work with enough time and effort, but why? Everyone here already knows and will agree that the 3sgte is an easier proven method of getting reliable turbo power in you car without the shotty craftsman ship of the 4g63.....anywho, just my 2 cents...

just buy a 1st gen dsm, do all the cheap-o mods to it and you have cheap speed, or get a 2nd gen, a lil slower but looks alot nicer. ive already went that route, i now own a celica which doesnt give me anything but joy and for kicks you can alwasy go the bike route... its better with wind in ur face if you want na, go with a 4age of some sort since you have an st, if you want turbo, either do the 7a or get a 3s swap, i think you'll be happy either way, but other than bragging rights, i dont see anything good coming out of putting that 4g into ur car

our celica motors are non-interference, you shouldn't be bending valves from broken timing belts kindasad.gif

neons dont have 4g63's so im slightly confused on that one. they come in the 1 and 2 gen eagle talons and eclipses and the 4g63T was used in the evo 8 i think.
