on the first one they get all their money for it off shipping. personally i wouldn't get either. i like the skirts on the 404 kit but that's it. but if you like it then go for it.

I was reading somewhere that the verts are a little different as in reagards to skirts. I like the second one. Ill make sure you ask them and have it in writing, that it will definetely fit a vert....

are you wanting to get the full 404 kit? Like front, skirts, bumper peices?

watch out for that back bumper... Your gonna havta customize it to fit... Coupes/Convertible's backs are bigger then the hatchback. Keep in mind that most kits out there are meant for the hatchback, so anything you wanna do is gonna require modification.

Its not an easy task... I had to do it on my vert... kindasad.gif

Either u pay cheap for the kit and pay extra to get it installed, or u pay extra for the body kit and pay less to get it installed. Your choice.

I would pay more for the kit its self so it will last longer and in case you hit something it wont break as easily as a cheap kit.

If you hit anything with a fiberglass bumper it will most likely crack either way.

I've also been wondering the same thing as NaderG. Where's a good place to buy a 404 kit? Also, are all the cheap ones going to be fiberglass? Urethane and other materials are normally quite a bit more expensive right? When you all say cheap equals bad fitment, just how bad do you mean? I'll be doing my own work, so I'm not too scared of I little bit of fitting and molding and shaving or whatever. But when I hear things about 1" short side skirts that's getting a little much.... rolleyes.gif

yea i mean if you were to hit a cerb for instince with a ****tty bumper it will crack off the screwes and fall off,but if u have a nice expensive bumper it wont tear off just scratch it depending on ur speed.

all the car types are the same (coupe vert and hatch) all have the same front. so any bumper that will go on the coupe will go on the other 2, only thing u have to worry about is the rear end and thats only between the hatch and the other 2.

to my knowledge all the bodies are the same excluding the rear quarters and the bumpers and what not. Basicly everything infront of your door handle is the same.

with your eyes?.....

if u look at a coupe and a vert (convertable) u can see they have visibly different tailights from the Hatch. Hense the shape of the rear bumper is different.

Im pretty sure no kit out there is made specifically for the convertible/coupe (theyre exactly the same as far as body goes - minus the top of course lol) all kits out there are basically meant for the hatchback. So anything your wanting to do the rear bumper will need modification to fit properly. I say if your gonna go with the kit, and you dont know how to use and work with fiberglass, dont do it yourself and have the professionals do it. When i did my back bumper we pretty much had to cut the peice in half to add about 6 inches of new fiberglass. But that was just the 404 peice, I dont know about any other bumper. But when I did it was not an easy task and if done wrong you could ruin the bumper.

Front, and side skirts will fit fine and there should be no major problems with those. If anything itll just be a slight, no big deal of a fitment problem which can and does happen - even to hatchbacks. I dunno if someone replied about that but I saw you were confused so Im just clearing things up wink.gif

also the parts database is your friend. pretty much anything that is available for your car is right there. and i mean ANYTHING. gl on what you decide on.

one more question ... if i buy a 404 front lip and later on got a Gt4 front bumper , will the 404 fit on it ?

I highly doubt it... the gt-4 is a completely different bumper with different curves then a regular celica bumper which im guessing the 404 could only fit to that bumper cuz my 404 peice fit the regular bumper almost perfectly...

i dunno though... but im highly doubtful...

Might as well choose now what you wanna do now... you dont wanna waste your money on both...
