Im looking to get a new car. This really sucks because my budget is about 20 - 25,000. I will not take a Scion of any sorts, Dont like any of the new Toyota cars and a new Lexus is out of my price range.

Any ideas on cars? It needs to be a 2006 or better. Ive thought about the Mazdas and thats a no go in my opinion. This sucks because its not like i dont care about what kind of car I get. Im a car girl and I need something that will not have me regretting my choice within a year.

I actually test drove an '06 Sentra SE-R the other day and it was incredible! It has Nismo wheels and Nismo exhaust system as well as (I don't know if the SE-R's came with it) front and rear strut bars. It has been sitting on this lot since new and has less than 100 miles on it. Their asking price was 20K, but we had them down to something like 16,800 out the door.

ok so uv basicly ruled out the only car company that is making cars fun now a days.

i havnt seen anything in the past 5 years that i would consider buying, except for some Mazda cars. (3,6,mx-5, speed3, speed6)

seriiously tho, take a look at a used mazdaspeed3 or used mazdaspeed6, both 2.3l turbo motors, the 6 has AWD leather power everything, and navi....new its like 30k base, the top of the line is 32k...u could probally find one off lease for your price, it gives fun, and luxuary.

id seriously reconsider your anti-mazda sentiment

What sucks about a budget of 20-25k? Thats alot of money, your already looking at $400+ a month unless you have 10k to put down.

I live at home and make rougly 2,000 a month with only a cell bill to pay so i can afford a 400 car payment.

I know some of you are going to say move out but Im holding off another year or two so then I can buy a townhome rather than spending 900 dollars a month on rent to live in the area I do now thats close to work.

Im thinking of going wrx with a boxer engine which would be about 28k. A little more than I wanna pay but I cant let myself settle on just something to get me from point a to point b

awww poor baby thats it?? lol

Im kinda opposite of you right now. Lately I have been thinking about selling my Celi (getting tired of the car payments) & buying something flat out so I dont have to make payments, might not be as pretty kindasad.gif But it will be worth it to not have those car payments anymore (i think) SO I have been looking around for a cheap sporty car...no idea what i'd get though

Hey Nat, i dont want to rain on your parade or anything, but if you are hoping to save up for a townhome, then i would shoot for cheaper car payment to save money. With mortage+bills+putting some aside for property tax, i spend ~$2000 a month on just house expenses. And that is with the $80,000 downpayment i made on my townhouse. Then factor on top of all of that, eating, gas, etc and the money runs away quickly each month.

My car will stay in the family. Probably start off as my brothers car till the Supra is fixed and then the Celica will become the backup car for the family. I cant sell it or part it - I just dont have the heart to do it.

Supra under 30k - ill pass!

when it comes to getting cars in my family they have to be PERFECT. Took my dad a year to find my celica. If I was to get a supra itd have to be perfect. My dad doesnt mess around when it comes to cars. My bros supra was bought in great condition and now has about 10k in parts and 20k in labor luckily my dad did all the labor so that was good. Now if I could just not be a girl maybe id get a suped up car

or maybe w/ that amount of money you could import a real GT-FOUR, and get it legalized.

assuming you're in a state that allows a RHD car

lol the point is to get a new car that i dont have to worry about for a few more years not invest into a 13 year old car. I need something that is me now more so than me 5 years ago.

The car will still be in the family cuz I cant let it go and eventually will get another engine - it just wont be out of my pockets

There is no reason why a used G35 wouldn't be a great, reliable car to have. It's silly to think that because a car is newer, it will last longer than any car older than it.

There is no attitude, I couldn't care less about what somebody across the country wants to drive. I was simply pointing out that you are ruling out many good options, simply because they werent made within the last year. Just out of curiosity, what is it about the 2008 G35, that eliminates any older model as a choice?

There is no 2008 G35. Its a G37.

There gonna cost about 36,000 for a base model and the things going to be a beast. 330 HP...sleeker design.

Well the reason cars that weren't made within the last two years have been ruled out is because after a car has been deemed "used" and is more than a few years old it reaches its "real market" value. Meaning there is no more it can depreciate unless there is some sort of damage to the vehicle, thus producing a higher intrest rate and requiring a steeper down payment. Newer cars on the other hand come at a lower initial intrest rate because you get a longer lease period to collect that intrest money. So....what she is looking for is something new to 1 or 2 years old (I think) that comes with a lower intrest rate and longer lease terms to lower payments at least a little bit.

So you are saying that if I were to purchase a STI, it wouldn't be because I enjoy the look or overall design of the car but because i wanted to beat the hell out of the engine and redline every shift? I'm not going to say it would never happen, but it's not the reason I personally would buy one.
