Running Rich, Consequences? Options

my car is running extremely rich (i can tell by the black smoke that comes out of my sexy exhaust at WOT and because the service manager at toyota told me so. lol). the thing is, they were supposed to tune my car and it seems they didnt or didnt do it properly. its the only thing they were able to come up with. im running premium fuel. they will be tuning it soon. my question is, how bad is it to be running rich? besides bad gas milage which ive noticed. lol. how bad is this for my motor and what are long term consequences? i already blew my catalytic converter and just got it replaced to remove the CEL but im still blowing out that smoke which is what killed the cat the first time.

tuning it with what? what have you done to it?

replace your o2 sensor. also are you sure the smoke isnt oil? bluish = oil, blackish = fuel.
