I don't like mine because it's automatic, and has a 5s-fe engine. That's it! Overall exterior is flawless even though with little door dings.

The magical 5sfe ! low power output , not that easy to rev , useless on the high Rpms and is not gas friendly !! , also it is an auto so that adds up .... the low beams dont provide much visibilty with stock lamps .... sometimes the seats feels a bit uncomfortable for me ( i am 6'3" ) .... but i love the inteiror , the handling , the styling and ofcourse the reliabilty

There are certain angles of the 6gc that arent appealing to me...and yes, i agree with DSToyo, the cup holders are really cheap and i hate it when the liquids drip on the console!

I dont like where they put the cupholders. They get in the way if you have a stickshift and you have two drinks in the holders.

the little exterior flaws that need to be fixed, the gas mileage i'm iffy about (but it's better than with my last car), convertible top+WA weather=not always the best combo...and oh yeah, Its NOT a GT4!
Other than that, love the car, i don't think you can find any car that your COMPLETELY satisfied with, so you learn to live with the flaws that make your car yous smile.gif

cons:

cup holders
slow as molasses
factory suspension (gt, st) isn't great by any means
the interior lights (guages, console) are an awful color from factory

pros:
engine swaps are cheap for the amount of power attained from them
it is POSSIBLE to make awd (everything's possible, just more possible than a civic)
interior is frickin awesome, sits very well, shifter isn't an arms length away
factory speaker location is good
exterior appearence is awesome

as much as it is complained about that the aftermarket parts available for this specific type of car is very limited, as far as performance goes, it's pretty cheap to get 200+ hp out of this car. i used to have a civic, and to get over 200hp you're lookin at spending a few bucks. the B18C swap is around 3-4k (cdn) depending on where you get it from. i dunno, i've owned 3 6th gen civics, and one of them was turbo, one was B16, and i still like the slow celica more than both any other car i've owned despite it's lazyass engine.

edit: if i had a gt-four, i probably wouldn't have said anything tongue.gif

I hate how heavy the celica weight.
I hate our suspension, if we had double wishbone suspension it would be amazing.
I hate our Fe engines, why not the 4age stock or 3sge?
I hate our back seats.
I hate our turning radius.

I Love reliablity.
I love the look.
I love the unique-ness.
I love the low end torque.
I love the interior how it wraps around you like a cockpit.
I love the engine capartment, big enough to fit a V6!
I love the rear hatch how it opens really really tall and high up in the air.

i think if i moved to jersey my car would handle 20 times better and instantly somehow have the feeling of 300hp laugh.gif

i only dislike the gap in my wheel wells which im working on, some minor cosmetic body issues and that taking the front bumper off is such a pain!

also i hate that i dont have any time to seriously work on it frown.gif have a bunch of parts and projects for it, but for now its my daily "beater"

I hate:

Auto tranny
7A-FE motor
the coupe body style
stock antenna
how my CD player skips every time i hit a big bump
cloth interior
my ecu limits top speed to 100mph.
teal color
virtually non-existant engine performance options
backseat size

but I'm done ranting. I just need to buy a 5-speed GT hatch and quit bitching.

mine spacificly: horrible rod knock, takes to much time to work on it, costs too much.

in general: cup holders, head room (front: helmit space sucks back seat forget about head room,) minimal aftermarket (good and bad i guess) all us models slow.

Cup holder sucks indefinately, and I don´t like the front arches...they have too big of a diameter (like most japanese cars of that era)...but that´s about it!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot how I hate those valve plates (they often sound like the car is Diesel-powered, which I hate)!

Other than that, I am very satisfied!

Ten isn't really a lot. There is currently only one widebody kit and that seems to be only available from Japan. There was promise of another one from the UK but that is still in the works. Engine swaps aren't really aftermarket products. Luckily, parts are fairly easy to come by - but products are scarce.

I guess it depends what car you compare it to. Most people tend to compare against the Golf, Fords, Lexus... Probably not a fair comparison.

We do okay for body kits but other aftermarket products for our car are seriously lacking. Some examples from memory and recent threads:

* Headlights (no 3rd parties as far as I know)
* Taillights (two 3rd parties, neither of which have mass appeal)
* Good quality door seals/treads
* Supercharger / compressor kits
* High performance brake kit
* Replacement seat covers (I mean replacements, not protectors)
* Plastic body panels

Only thing I've hated for this model is that parts are not cheap and easy to find plus we did not get the high end motors.

Things I don't like about MY 6gc?

Bone-rattlingly stiff ride for a daily-driven car.
WAY too many dents and too much rust.
My aftermarket seats occasionally squeak and are bouncy.
I eat through tires like people go through socks.
Bad strut mounts that sometimes make noise.

In general:

That our cars come with nasty seats stock.
Underpowered from the factory.
Vague steering/handling for a sport coupe from the factory.
FWD isn't my favorite.
Cupholders aren't the best.

Really I can think of many more good things about the car than bad, so I guess its worth keeping. smile.gif

There's only a few things that get on my t1ts:

1. when it rains and I want the window slightly open, all the water runs in! (I live in England so it always wet here!)
2. door window rattles (I've tightened everything and still vibrates even though i turn my bass down)
3. can't get a kids seat in the back, otherwise it's ideal cos of the low roof and short legroom. Would be a cool dads car.
4. the damn headlight seals that just want to pop-out every day!

as for drinks holders - no food, drink, or smoking in my cabin!

My dislikes:
-I hate the cupholders all in all, mainly location and the fact that whenever I stop fast or do anything while putting the weight to the front of the car they slide out!
-Car is a slow ST
-Car is at around 3500rpm @ 80mph
-Handling isn't totally up to par
-Coupes get short end of the stick for tail lights
-Weight to power(or should I say lack there of lol) ratio

Likes/Loves:
-Car looks like a sexy toyota and not like a subaru which(in my opinion) the GT-4 looks like(only in my opinion peeps)
-Interior is decent, just needs minor tweaks
-Lack of headroom in the backseat(just means that only short people of little weight can ride in the back and not make my car any slower by adding more to it's already massive weight lol)
-Most things have to be custom on it for it to fit my needs and tastes, so it's more unique and I can take pride in that

I personally think there are more pros than cons to the 6g but still tryin to slim down that dislikes list..... I think I'm gonna start by RIPPING out that d*** cupholder lol

100x Cup Holders – I have knocked drinks out of them more than once. They’re right where I put my arm when I shift.

That’s about it. Other than the lack of a GE motor is the US market I think Toyota built a heck of a car with the 6GC. The design still looks nice after 13+ years, not too many cars built in 1994 have that much appeal based solely on appearance, as they look very dated now.

hahaha...it's too plasticky...interior needs to be upgraded and most of all...it's too noisy...as the days goes by, it's slowly deteriorating and not as solid as it should be...example...when i close the door....sounds hallow...feels like it is going to fall off...and roof needs to be a little more taller...and lastly the passenger back seats...people complain about sitting in the back...lol, i don't mind...im the driver anywho....biggrin.gif

Celica's in general: Not quite enough head room (I'm 6'3")
My Celica: The rear bumper's missing some paint where I reversed into my mate's car. It was far too early so I was half asleep, car misted up etc etc.

Road noise. More than I wish the cup holders were better wink.gif I wish that the car just had a quieter cabin without spending a ton of money and time to modify it to make it quieter.

On the up side, I couldn't agree more with tads about the style of the car. It's a beautiful design that is timeless and has held up exceedingly well over the years. People who don't know Celicas are shocked to hear my car is nearly 14 years old.

Hmmm, Well, I dont like the fact that I got jipped when I got It! It had been In an accident and they didnt tell me, all the plastic piece's In the trunk area are broken, they dont screw In, or are just plain useless, and make really annoying rattleing when I drive on bumby roads. I was takeing those piece's out after I got It, You know, my first car, I want to check It out, learn about It, and I see massive bondo work, I take a closer look and see all the "scratch's" where It was repainted, wasnt smooth like the rest of the car. I have the flimsey entenna on mine, doesnt get great signal for the radio, though I dont listen to It that often. As everyone else has said, the cup holders suck, mine's a stick and that **** Is In the way. A few other little thing's I cant think of right now cause Im hella tired. But overall, Its a great car, and Im very happy with It, just wish It was faster.

Since when is cheap-looking the opposite of nice? I didn't say the interior didn't look nice. I actually love it. I just don't love the cheap looking materials used for it. Still, they're not as cheap looking as more expensive 2007 cars, which is impressive to say at least. Capisce? wink.gif

Ya know, the lack of insulation and the thickness of the body work is what makes our wide and long bodied cars so light. Example: My brother owned a Ford ZX2 (he has a camry now, thank god), and the car is smaller than ours. Its more cramped, its shorter and overall not nearly as big. Yet his weighs 3000 and ours weigh close to 2500?

I like the lack of insulation. And if dents are a problem stop parking next to the basket return at Kroger. biggrin.gif

Pfffft. No talk. Drive. Or blast music and drive. Especially on a date, you'll have plenty of time to talk when you reach your destination. Car time is me time.

"Hmm. Ask him if he's the dragon reborn."

i think that for the years our cars are bad, the insulation is ok. integras are like that too.

the interior design is nice... but materials are soso... altho the materials are better than what is in the new 06+ civic imo. the new civic has super cheap plastics.

the gt/gt-s isn't THAT slow.. maybe bcuz i was comin from a camry that had a 5sfe
