Anyways, I got a 94 celi GT and have been waiting to find a 96-99 GT and here it is finally.

http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/car/401183736.html

The only problem as you can see is like the faded paint, dented rear bumper, and something about the quarter panels? But for $2500 I'm sure I can fix it up and would still be a lot cheaper. Plus, it's rare to find a 96-99 in Hawaii. I've only seen like 3 or so.

I am going to look at it, anyone got suggestions on questions I should ask the seller before buying it?

Lastly, Should I pick it up?

i personally dont see a reason to, if you want the 96+ look why not just get the front bumper for your car? or what reasons do you have for wanting one so bad?

but its up to you!

i don't think that's a gt. you are better off with you 94. that is a killer deal but i wouldn't get it. i agree with tony. just buy a facelifted bumper. also as i look at the pics in your prof, you car looks 100x better. thumbsdown.gif

well i was interested in it b/c of the look of the 96-99 models. And its 5 sp. and only got 81k miles. I am almost going to break 140k in my celi and thats why. I didn't really want to mod my car anymore b/c it has pretty high miles, but having a car with 81k i can pretty much do whatever. I am going to take a look at it on Tuesday and then make a decision.

Anyone know some good questions to ask?

he said it was in a little fender bender, hence the dented rear bumper and dented quarter panels. I just hoping theres no frame damage. how do i check for that and is fixing the rear bumper and quarter panels easy? then i gotta paint that sucker.

def pick that up, the bumper and all that can be fixed in one fellow swoop and your gonna be way happier, try and get the price down though, i know he said 2.5k firm but when your their offer cash and tell him u want it for less cause its gonna cost alot to fix the bumper and paint.

Hey bro, I think 2,500 is to much. Check the engine. If he was in a fender bender check the radiator for cracks and all that etc. Ask for at keast, 300-500 dollars off. The body repair and paint will cost you a good 1.2k or so

who knows if the car even drives straight!

I would say no to that one, just because of the suspicious damage.

Quarter panel damage always costs a fortune to fix.

don't forget tax and registration/title costs. im paying near 200 for that ****e. oh and fender bender? psha don't trust it for 2500, i got mine, with minor damage and some paint needed for 1500.

why don't you take that 2500 you would be spending and put it towards a 3sgte swap? you could get a clip w/ less miles for that much couldn't you?

In total, the car will end up costing you, a good say... 4,500, this inludes bodywork and title fees and this n' that. Just Keep the one you have, use the money for a down payment on a new car or mods to your current Celica. Hellsyphon is right, quarter panel repairs are a fortune to fix. That usually depends though. Doesn't seem like they would have to cut it off just good ol' rubber hammer.

Its hard to do a 3s swap... I don't have garage space nor am i even good at motor work. Also, its really hard to get a 3s clip here in hawaii. motor + shipping would be like 3k.
