Hi guys

Dont post on here much but just thought i would fill my fellow Celica loving people in on what's been going on ..

Well on the 17th of April i wrote Desmond off frown.gif , long story short i noticed a speed cop car so got distracted as you do , when i looked back the guy in front had slammed on the brakes due to not having enough room to get past the speed cop car so ran up his arse frown.gif ..

Here is what Des looked like after

a day later he got taken away to get written off frown.gif

well it took 3 months to settle with the insurance company (admiral), it wasn't there fault it was the dvla's for taking so long to put my private plate into retention ffs.

After 4 months of searching i found this, fancied a change to white biggrin.gif

within 23 hours of owning it it looked like this ,notice no orange bits biggrin.gif

then today it was like this , nice big wheels biggrin.gif

its getting there biggrin.gif

just for reference here is what Desmond looked liked in his glory, every time i see that pic i think to myself why did i get a white celica lol

Hope you like guys biggrin.gif

Kev

PS: yeah as usual im drunk lmao biggrin.gif

i didn't downgrade m8 , Desmond was a GT with the GT4 front end biggrin.gif

The plan is to put a GT4 front end on the new one, i already have a bumper but its sitting in Middlesbrough and im finding it a tad hard in getting it up here to Scotland, i plan on fixing the bonnet that was damaged on Desmond, don't now if i will manage it but as there worth a few pennys its worth giving it a go.

next mod = colour code splitters (Desmond's old ones lol) biggrin.gif

IPB Image

IPB Image

It amazing the difference they make to the front end for such small items.

I also put the k&n induction kit on today, man i forgot how good that sounds biggrin.gif

Last thing i did was remove the full sized spare alloy and swap it for the space saver out of Desmond, also put the carpet from Desmond in it, now it has a nice flat floor instead of that big lump for the spare biggrin.gif..

as manphibian says DO IT biggrin.gif

have a look at his pics as he has done it..

Im quite happy with the results i got, as they had already been painted from the last Celica i had there was already a good base on them, what i did was use 600 grit wet and dry to ruffen them up for a good key, then i used white plastic primer (needs to be white for white paint), put 2 coats on then sanded it smooth with 1500 grit, then another 2 coats and smoothed again, i then left them for 4 days (was to cold to paint) then last night i applied 3 coats of paint and left them till this morning, i flattened the paint down with 1500 grit then applied 3 coats, once dry a put them on the car, i didn't smooth them down as I'm going to let the paint fully cure for a week or 2 then i will take them back of to wet and dry them smooth then use some cutting compound to get then shiny again, its a lot of work but well worth it biggrin.gif

That hood is junk all the under bracing is buckled. you'll never get the line of the hood to meet up correctly that and the underside will always have the crease from were it was buckled. but more power to you if you want to try it.
Just wait the white looks amazing with the GT4 front your opnion will change very quick on the white. granted your previous car looked amazing but this one will look just has good if not better! good luck keep taking pics and enjoy it!

Nice looking car.......so thats where the GT4 nosecone is going that I "still" have sat in my yard. I have a solution though, I`m off work for two weeks from the 12th September.....I will drive up to Scotland with it if you meet me somewhere near the border, dosnt matter which coast, east or west, dosnt matter what day or time, I just want rid of the dam thing now. Unless you want to arrange collection for a date after that. I`ll be at home up to my eyeballs in wallpaper and gloss paint.....No its not a bizzare fettish, I`m decorating, smile.gif

well its been a while, 2 years since i last modded.

got new wheels,17" Kei Racing RSS and 4 virtualy brand new tyres, only down side is the et42 offset, my last wheels were et35 (both 7" wide), didnt think 7 mil would make that much difference but it does, will get spacers at a later date.

Here's the pics, taken with my phone so not the best , will add beter ones tomorrow if im not to hungover.

Here is how it used to look

and how it looks now

Still love the look of the old set but there past it now frown.gif

Just got to wash the car now lol, and lower it.

I do prefer the old wheels but they are past it, had them 8 years, they are heavy and a tad buckled, the car was no fun to drive with them on due to vibration, i think this was mostly caused by the rear tyres as they were more egg shaped that round lol, the car is sooo smooth now with not 1 hint of vibration.

i do plan on changing the colour of the new ones to ether white or a nice bright silver, if i get another Black Gen 6 then i would keep them Black.

couldn't agree more, if i could find someone willing to swap with a Black Gen 6 in the same condition i would seriously consider it.
