I'm currently trying to track down all the parts I'm going to need for for a 4age 20v swap. Right now I'm looking at a aftermarket header(still playing with turboing it but I'm comparing power gains for now) from powertech. It says that the o2 sensor is positioned on the header. My question is; "Does any one know if it is in the, some what, same location as the stock 7afe?". The only reason I'm asking is if I do decide to go non-turbo can I re-use the stock o2 sensor wiring or even the sensor. After all they're both a series engines. Let me know what you all find out, I'll be looking too. Thanx

The Oxygen sensor is located further down the exhaust header, not like the 7AFE. The sensor would be located somewhere between the bottom of the header and the exhaust system. If I had a digital camera I would show you exactly where it is.

Are you sure getting an aftermarket header will be worth it? From the looks of the stock one, it seems very good for a factory piece. I think if anything the gains would be slight. But if it is worth it to you, go for it.

For right now I'm just trying to tackle the age old question "Turbo or not to turbo". I'm just comparing target HP. This would not of been the only mod. Its either turbo ($2500), or header/nevo UD pulleys/s-afc (+/-$1100). I'm just trying to cut corners on cost with the wiring. What have you done to your 4age and have you dyno'ed it yet?

Jussimple, don't forget about some cams if you're going the N/A route. wink.gif

Also, do you have a link to that header, and is it a 4-1, or 4-2-1 header? I hear that the stock 4-2-1 header flows very well, but you can still get some gains from a header. I'm thinking about a TRD or Toysport header when I get around to doing that. smile.gif

And some people advise that you change your 02 sensor anyway, as part of the car's maintenance. Even though you run unleaded gas, the 02 sensor can still wear out and give incorrect readings over time. wink.gif

Oh yeah, I can go take a picture of it tomorrow probably on my lunch break. smile.gif

Anywhere from free to thousands of dollars. Are you going to do the labor yourself? If not, I'd suggest getting estimates from reputable shops around you.
