as the tittle says, I have 194 LEDs in Red, Blue, Green, White, and Amber, they are the 5 small LEDs in one bulb, to give an even light output. here is a picture of how they look

IPB Image

I installed white ones on my cluster with needles painted red, here are my results

IPB Image

the price for this LEDs is US$7.00 shipped for one pair, any color US$13.00 for a 4 LEDs ( have to be sold in pairs )

Pictures could have been a lot better but the excess of experience didn't allow me to get better results rolleyes.gif

these look really nice in the gauges guys and it's really an easy mod to do.
i had some but the LED stopped working so i switched to some polarg bulbs but i do miss that bright blue glow.

to me they look a brighter but I haven't had stock bulbs for a while. give me till Sunday, I'm gonna meet with a few members I'm sure someone should have stock bulbs so I can take a picture with the same camera and compare, or I can even install the green one back in mine so I can compare them with theirs. I don't wanna just say YES and then look like a dumb@$$ lol

Is the brightness of these "bulbs" adjustable like the stock bulbs? With the rest of the instrument lighting?
Also pm'ed back but thought this might be an interesting question to more people.

like Kerosene said, they go in slanted, no need to modify anything, the brightness can be adjusted just like you do now, nothing chances except the color tongue.gif

Takes two of these in the gauges, two '74' leds and one '24' bulb (24 is bigger than 74/smaller than 194).

What are ya talkin about?

that's what i'm using in my SS-III. just didn't want him to be disappointed when we tell him that he needs two 194s, he orders them, then realizes he needs 3 more bulbs AFTER he takes his dash apart. Oh, and a 74 can be used in place of the 24, but i would advise the 24. i've only seen them at superlumination under 74 bulbs (their prices suck, but only place i've seen them)

your best bet would be to find someone who has a GT and done the mod, and see what they did. the gauges may be different between the models. kerosene may have only used 3 194s. i had to use 2 194s, 2 74s and 1 24 for mine. the 194s in mine are for the tach and half of the speedo, the 24 for between the temp and fuel gauges, and the 74s for the top of the temp and bottom of the fuel gauges. may be different in the GT's.

How To

EDIT: a lot of LEDs are polarized, if they don't work the first try, turn them around in the connector (black thing), then they should work.

the warning lights are size 74 or 79, not sure, and the quantity varies depending if it's a GT os ST and ABS or non ABS. I would say they are around 12 - 13 bulbs all together.

The LED's arrived, amd I just put them in. Took me about an hour and a half because parts of my screwdriver went AWOL inside my dash.

They work good, but I can't really say how they look in full effect as it's the middle of the day right now.

these led's will be brighter than the stock bulbs w/ green rubber, they are slightly brighter than 194 bulbs alone w/o rubber

if you do get led's you should not dim them via the dimmer knob as doing so will take life away from them and cause them to fail if you continue to dim that way

bump for a good seller and some awesome led's i have different, yet similar led's in mine and i love them! go for the pupley white color that he's offering to get a true white color off the center dial as its tinted green slightly. and dont complain about the price, a GOOD high mcd led assembly like these are worth more than the 30c ones, he's being very fair and is offering a great deal =) the difference is clear a couple years down the road

QUOTE(jason @ Nov 9, 2007 - 5:50 PM)

these led's will be brighter than the stock bulbs w/ green rubber, they are slightly brighter than 194 bulbs alone w/o rubber

if you do get led's you should not dim them via the dimmer knob as doing so will take life away from them and cause them to fail if you continue to dim that way

bump for a good seller and some awesome led's i have different, yet similar led's in mine and i love them! go for the pupley white color that he's offering to get a true white color off the center dial as its tinted green slightly. and dont complain about the price, a GOOD high mcd led assembly like these are worth more than the 30c ones, he's being very fair and is offering a great deal =) the difference is clear a couple years down the road

Thanks Jason smile.gif

that's right guys, we're not suppose to dim the LEDs with the dimmer lights ( even though It'll work ) it'll kill the lifetime of the LEDs.

This is true, they cost slightly less than some of the eBay ones and are probably way better... wish I saw this thread 3 weeks ago before I bought mine from eBay, mine are 4 bulb and I'm not happy with them at all!

Does anyone have a picture of their gauges with amber LEDs? I'm trying to decide between red and amber.

Amber LEDs don't look great, because the gauges have a slight greenish color, so the color doesn't look quiet right to me. Red is the way to go.

cnelson, are you installing them in the gauges? if so, plug and play. if they don't work the first try, take them out of the holder, turn it around. the LEDs are polarized (will only work one way). same with everywhere else a 194 bulb is used... ie license plate lamps, JDM sidemarkers and accent lights, some autometer gauges...

A suggestion for those doing the red LEDs but don't want even a hint of pink - use the red regular bulb condoms that you can get at any parts store on these also. You'll have to turn them inside out and sort of flip them over the LED due to the construction of them but it really deepens the red. And because they are low heat I don't expect that they will bleach out the condoms the way normal bulbs do.
Great product Culp biggrin.gif

Yeah i know... but the brightness of the pic really depends on the exposure of the camera, so you cant tell for sure how they will look in real life.
