I found a mr2 complete rear clip and also a st205 front clip both around the same price (the st205) a little more expensive. But i was wondering if there both the same. As in , does one clip have parts that the other doesnt, that i would need. I thinking the st205 jus cuz its a from a front engine car but does it reely make a differnce? aany thoughts. thanks

If the mr2 you are looking at have the e153 tranny then you will get lsd with the tranny. You will have to have a fmic with after the install because the mr2 utilizes a side mount kinda. The st205 you will get the W2A top mount intercooler, less lag. You will have to get the e153 tranny if you want lsd or if you have a gt you can use that tranny. Assuming you have a GT you can just swap everything over no problems with the st205 clip, thats if the wiring was done right. With the mr2 a little tricky. The alternator bracket is different so you will have to use the one you have from the 5sfe.

Oh on the mr2 clip you will also need the gt4 motor mounts.

I was going towards the st205 too, i have an st so it would be a lil harder for me i think, and i'd probly get the e153 tranny. but besides the prob with the engine mounts what else is gona make swaping into an st harder then the gt? thanks

No, they aren't the same, necessarily. Depends on what years the MR2 is. One could be a 2nd gen 3sgte, the other 3rd gen.

Don't forget that the water necks, wire routing, mounts and other stuff are different too. Stick with ST205 for a much easier swap.

He can't use stock, he's got an ST.

The better motor, and easier swap, would be the ST205 over the 2nd Gen MR2. Then you can sell the AWD tranny and buy an E153 and it'll be easier since you will have the cables, mounts and parts to convert it.
