IMO: poor choice of a car. It's just not sleek enough for me. And then it has 3 different versions, attack, remote and cruising? KITT didn't have that stuff. Viper did.

I have a feeling this will bomb, the original was awesome, this is not.

X2 all of that. the rear axle is crap, Ford could have made it handle much better, and at least put independent rear suspension on the Cobra. But they didnt bcuz it would have added 5k the price, but who cares, it handles like a shopping cart. And even on the KR the interior has more cheap plastic then a box on leggos.

Couldn't agree more. Pity that Ford ended the GT. That would have been a good base for a KITT. Or the Jag XK. Or the Mazda RX8.

Yup, that or the Mustang would both make a good KARR (KITTs evil brother). But neither are streamlined enough for KITT. You want a car that looks like it is going really fast even when it is stationary. The Mustang is a good muscle car but doesn't give the impression that it can go at 300mph or 0-60 in 3 seconds. And it isn't going to look pretty going around tight S-bends at 150mph.

i'm not going to speak for anyone else, but i hate mustangs. not because i drive a toyota and portend that all 'merican cars are crap, but on the basis that it is a toaster amongst cars, and a crappy one at that. i have never understood why anyone who graduated high school would want one. sure, if you buy the top-end model that struggles to get double digit mileage figures, you can tear it up in a straight line. if you want to hang out with a bunch of mulleted gas-huffers at your local dragstrip, that is.

the mustang has never handled proficiently, and thanks to the incessant use of a live axle, it never will. they're built on the premise that no matter what, somebody will buy them. you don't see bullitt-esque ploys for any other "sports" cars (i use "" because i am not convinced that the mustang is a sporting car in the same way a lotus elise is). people aren't going to be swayed into buying a miami vice edition ferrari. the cars are good enough on their own. just because you plunked down 30 grand for a tarted-up gt with no spoiler doesn't make you as "cool" as steve mcqueen.

my mom had a 65 mustang. according to her, it looked great but unfortunately wasn't a very good car. apparently not much has changed in over 40 years.

i just don't get it.

Yea, what's that about? How dumb to change the actual catch phrase. The KITT voice sounds okay though. With all the other changes, I was kinda expecting that they would make the voice have a Texas twang or sound camp or something.
