Jasper (jdg371) and I have sat down and figured out almost every detail to this meet.

It will be from Friday June 27th, to Sunday the 29th in Virginia Beach, VA. There will be a variety of activities planned.
- BBQ
- Relays
- Kickball
- Flag football
- Go karts

I am in the process of getting a group rate at a hotel, but I would need to know exactly how many people plan on coming. I estimated at least 20. I'm hoping that there will be more.

Hotel + BBQ + additional park fees will be determined and paid for in full before the meet (a set rate).

I will be setting up an individual checking account, so that all payments will be made with a Visa and will make it easier. Once all fees are determined, I will post a paypal account to send money to.

Good Day! This is a reminder for the members who are planning on entering the East Coast Meet in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We ARE sending out a PM to everyone who has enganged interest in the Meet. I hope to see YOU there.

That would be awesome to have the Upper State 6GCs come down at the same time. Please add +# If you have people coming with you. This should help with keeping count on how many are coming and how many rooms will be needed to accomodate the group.

QUESTION: Would you be comfortable with 4 people to a room, or would you like it only 3 or 2? Just for note, the more people to a room, the cheaper it will be.

If the point of skateboarding was to fall on your ass as many times as possible, I'd be a champ. I went skateboarding a couple of weeks ago and got a HUGE bruise on my leg and ass from falling on it 2786172 times. And, my hand is all kinds of messed up from falling on it too.

I'm waiting to get 20 confirmed to reserve the rooms.

I need to recheck if thats both days [Fri and Sat] Im pretty sure it is.. just need to Double check.

Its mostly for the people that are coming from far away that needs a place to stay, if your a local no need to pay for the rooms!

everyone driving a good distance should also put in the works to setup some meeting points. like the MA crew n the NY crew could meet at pallisades, then swing by n meet with the NJ people, then the PA people could meet up somewhere below philly and have a huge pack of cars traveling together

Its hard to get a hold of a track. VIR.. is usually full all year long, especially in June.

You have to sign up for a track day with an organization, you have to pass various inspections (which i'm going to bet 99% of everyone here fails at the moment, but not hard to do all the work needed)

The Meet will occur at Mount Trashmore, in the Lynnhaven area. The Hotel which is RedRoof Inn will be located on Virginia Beach BLVD. I tried to have the locations close together, so everything is around 15 min apart.

I hope this is still a go, but reading through this whole thead, I am not convinced that anyone has actually made a supposed discounted hotel reservation with the Red Roof Inn. We supposedly need at least 20 people, and I don't think people are willing be 4 to a room with two Queen beds lol, just to pay $27 per night! Also, this itinerary link does not even work! This whole thing seems very disorganized at this point.

Jen and jdg, please let me know what I can do to help. I am a local to the area! This area gets pretty dang busy during the summer obviously b/c Virginia Beach is somewhat of a resort town. And we need to seriously get the hotel thing straight first if we plan to put up a big group into one hotel and get a group rate.

rent out a campground or something, park our cars in a big circle, have a bond fire, and crash out in tents.

also... i dont think we really need an itinerary, if something fun is around and the mass thinks it would be fun to do - go do it. plans are made to be broken and fail - its the flying by the seat of your pants that makes for a good time!

but - plan a hotel where a group of us could stay, and also if wanted if theres enough interest a local campground (or hotel parking lot) where we could have a campout deal - make the 6gc logo shape outta smores mmmmmm

Since I am local, I will start calling around and trying to get a group rate and possible some rooms blocked out for us. How many rooms? At least 20? Each with at least 2 singles or 1 queen beds? Sorry, I am new to reserving a bunch of hotel rooms. It seems we will have at least 20 people.

As for a car meet place, I am going to talk to Jasper (jdg371) about that. I will call him soon.

I'm going to call Jasper (jdg371) this weekend to discuss, my local connection. The hotel should not be too hard, but I need to discuss a good car meet place that we won't be kicked off of...it will probably be a big local park like discussed earlier. We still have FOUR months, but sounds like enough interest that we should act on hotel now. One good thing is that this is a large metro area, so we should have options. Will check into camping too. If people get scattered at places to stay, then just make sure someone has GPS or Jasper and I can help out.

I'm planning on spending a week in Virginia, a few days at the beach and then my last days at the meet so if I can spend those last days in a camping ground that would be awesome as I love camping plus the first couple days I'll be in a nice hotel by the beach.

if no camping ground is available that's fine, I just love go camping but I can do that later on the summer so no biggie
