what are transmission switch & heater control valve. what do they do and where are they located?

this is the heater control valve.
![]() when you turn the Hot/Cool dial on the climate control, you're basically opening or closing this valve via this cable. when set to hot, it opens the valve and lets hot coolant flow through the heater system inside.
