A shower curtain... you may laugh, but you'll forget.
Cooking wear like pots, skillet, cookie sheet, measuring cups, all useful.

Oh, and you can never have enough trashcans, big and small.

"Tell him you are not darklings. He should open up."
".......Sweet. Thanks."
"No problem."

lock on your door, mini fridge to keep your roommates out of your food (most apartments should have a full size fridge already. if not that would suck), tv + accessories, laptop (much easier than a desktop set up), food, bathroom equipment, alarm on your car, people you don't care to hate after you live with them for roommates, basic kitchen supplies (george foreman, toaster, plates, bowls etc...), bedroom stuff (bed and at least a hanger bar), and voila
you are a bachelor

gl
just a note though, once you move out you won't ever want to move back home again. trust me on this one.

Agreed. I had to move back home for a couple of months last year and I hated it. I would rather be broke and living on my own than having more money living with my parents. Omg.. the freedom is amazing.

dishes
microwave
portable fan (if you dont have a ceiling fan)
vaccum/broom
shower curtain

1. Shower curtain is a must(hangin by the wall cause you forgot one sux, and don't forget the rings)
2. Tables, chairs, and all that are nice, yet not too necessary(in my first apt I was poor so I signed up to deliver phone books and ended up not being able to pass em all out so I made an apt full of tables, chairs, couches, stands and the couch and chairs were pretty comfortable lol)
3. Cookware
4. A can opener lol
5. Microwave
6. Trash can
7. Cleaning supplies(broom, vaccuum, mop, sponges, and cleaners)
8. Something to do in down time(radio, dvds, tv, whatever)
9. Towels
10. Most apts have a fridge, but just in case
11. Curtains/sheets for the windows(personally I think the slot blinds on windows are crap)
12. Plunger(always handy)
13. Mat for the hallway to put shoes on when you are coming in from something dirty or wet
14. Cheap decorations for the walls(doesn't feel like home with bare walls)
15. *this one isn't really a need for you to get unless you find one with hookups, but try to cause laundromats suck* Washer & Dryer

For me I had to wait for about 6 months for a bed. I just used the mattress(the kind that are like a big pillow) from a futon, sheets, and a sleeping bag as a blanket lol.... but yeah, if you don't have one to take with you, definitely get a bed. Sleeping on the floor, phonebook couches, and a futon mattress get old after a while lol.

So far.. I actually own, a single matress, futon, PS2/TV/Radio, A plethera of cleaning supplies and trash bags, dresser, clothes hanger and those portable closets.. lol.

Should a Full size fridge, washer, and dryer be on my list? I can somewhat live off using laundrymats and I would hope that the apartment comes with a fridge.
