Hobbies, Idea stolen from another forum Options

i was just wondering what everybody does in their free time beside work on the Celicas , i am looking for an idea for a hobby and need some help !
And to add something to this post , how about everybody says what they do ( if they want ) so that I dont have to sit here and wonder how it is affordable to have X amount of hobbies

I am trying to learn how to play the guitar but i can afford lessons ,so i am just following free internet based guides !

What with playing with my Celica and keeping it clean (it's white, apparently) and working, I don't have time for much else. I think my Celica IS my hobby I drink a lot of beer, too.

Does drinking beer count as a hobby? I would suggest that's a good hobby. Goes well with the guitar as well. In fact, beer, guitar, and a Celica is the perfect combination to get laid a lot. So sh!t man, I think you're set

- Celica (by far the most expensive hobby)
- Guitars (but that tends to get not cheap once you start buying amps and effects and crap)
- Building model kits (main expense is up-front buying tools and paint and stuff)

Oh and Shrink, although I'm not a beer drinker, unfortunately the guitar + Celica combination hasn't scored yet for me

um.... xbox, celica, and rc cars are my main hobbies i guess and i'm just kinda getting into the rc cars. (those are in no particular order BTW)

I play in my band Metaluna, Lead vocals. and my car. Those are the main ones.

i dont have a lot of time for anything other then that and my car. I have a wife, daughter and friends that take up most of my time. But both of those also take up the rest of my time so i feel pretty balanced.

That's pretty much what I did. Just learn some chords, pick out big bands songs that you like and find the tab for it. oh, and scales. Go crazy on scales!

Boy howdy we have a lot in common... oh wait....

Seriously, right now my car is my hobby. I suck at video games because I'm a girl and I'm over 30, but I sure do like them. And for work, I'm a graphic designer, which honetly is probably my first hobby, it just happens to work out great that people actually pay me money to do what I'd be doing already anyway. It's like I'm getting away with something. Now THAT rules.

Edit: I thought of something else - photography! Duh! I do it so much I didn't even think of it as a hobby. But in reality it is.

Soccer, training with buds in MMA, planes, computers/games, r/c helicopters/cars/plances, dirtbikes(wish i had money for superbikes/streetbikes), bass guitar(for some reason i cant get the hang of the regular guitar), drums, parties, my mustang and celli...... I like doing a little bit of everything though so my hobbies go on and on because I go through like 3 month phases for each hobby(pretty much any hobby imaginable) so that way I can get the most outta life and always be doing something different than what I was just doing and get outta the "norm" routine

Snowboarding - just got a new Palmer board with flow bindings for this season

Skateboarding - can't do this much when you live in the PNW

The WRX - my new DD. Tons of fun

The Yelli Celi - 'nuff said. VERY expensive hobby.

Xbox 360.

The first two have been put on hold for a bit. I may or may not have a herniated disc in my back + pinched nerves in my back, so I'm limping around feeling like a 70 year old man right now. Very painful.

I dont know how some you can manage so much hobbies !
-me and my Guitar are taking our sweet time , besides it is not that time consuming so i am left with quite a bit of empty time

-There is alot that i want to do for the Celi , but we all know that the 6gen is probably one of the most expensive cars to work on since there is no parts what so ever

- i tired my luck with sport bikes but it didnt work because of my parents , and i cant go off roading because i dont have a truck

- Shooting sounds good ... i know the best way to start is by taking gun safety classes and starting at the range with an instructor and something like a .22 and then moving up the scale . any recomendations? how much should i expect to for expenses on this ? ( i dont think my parents will like that either)

- RC cars sound fun , but i dont think my family would really like that either , i am sure they will say it is too childish

i think my major problem is that i am studying biology in order to get in school , and my parents think hobbies ( and sometimes friends ) are basically a waste of valuable time that should be spent studying. But i am trying to find something to do instead of going insane of boredom
