hey i bought my 94 celica st and the guy put a 95 celica motor into it the only problem is the motor is shuting off at 95 mph and 105 mph with the overdrive off. and i called inthe vin# and its a celica motor for sure. the only thing i can think of is i have 2 busted motor mounts and dont know if thats the problem( confused) didnt think the motor had a shut off but dont know for sure. by the way i have an auto trans. need some help please would be greatful. thanks

well, maybe go easy on the engine... as far as shutting off... what do you mean? Completely dead? If you are driving around with two busted mounts, you are pressing your luck

fuel cut on US spec motors should be closer to 112-115mph.

this is not an engine problem, its your transmission.

I recomend taking the transmission oil pan off and look to see if any hose got knocked off inside.

not going dead just not geting any more speed should of said toping out at that speed motor mounts are going to be fixed the 3rd got to get $330.00

autos cant really go that fast.. i've tried to top both of mine out, and the auto was considerably lower than the 5spd

dunno, my 7afe with A245E (longer gearing than A246E) will peg the speedo without issues in 3rd. the A246E should also be able to do the same as the 3rd and final drive arent that much different.
