its not actually auto...its a smg type trans....dropping 15k to reserve is actually false.....

i thought it has both full auto and smg, and with the car in "r" mode no need for a real maual shifter bcuz of launch conrtol. Just hold down the brake and gas at the same time and when u wanna launch hard just relase the brake and your out!!!

it is IMPOSSIBLE to have an automatic transmission that is SMG as well.

SMG = manual tranny, with electronic clutch (has a fly wheel/PP/disk)
Auto = torque converter

Its not impossible what r u talking about my misinformed friend? Do u know what and SMG is? Sorry pal there r cars with full auto with an SMG twin clutch, all SMG basically means it that u dont have to use a clutch pedal.

smg's still has full auto mode in witch u never have to touch the paddle shifters. So how could it be impossible? The funticon of a full auto is still there SMG with full auto mode have been around for years. I think u need to get your facts straight. As a matter of fact honda just put one on a motorcycle even.

there r full auto SMGs, but poor gramar will not make u correct. I work on hondas for a living. I have installed a full auto SMG on a honda. The Audi TT coupe had one i believe. Audi TT has DSG (VW equivelent to BMW SMG)
Automatic TRANSMISSIONS are different from manual TRANSMISSIONS

BMW SMG (I & II) is a full out MANUAL transmission and is not an automatic transmission
lets do a break down of the parts.
Flywheel-Pressure plate-Clutch disk
all operated by an electronic actuator.
lets look at an ACTUAL SMG tranny

hrm NO torque converter.

the automatic mode is computer controlled effects on the manual transmission, moving the pressure plates ect at a pre-set point by the factory.
the manual mode removes the preset points and allows the user to select when, the computer will not do anything unless told to

whats inside the transmission.....
Torque converter
(you could have a tiptronic -automatic transmission with user selectable gears and normal automatic, which still uses a torque converter, and failsafe points of automatic downshift/upshift in most cases)

I'm glad you work on hondas.....but i work on Benz, Bmw, VW, and Porsche.
