I was just reading some forum about buying a long block 3, but everyone was telling him to buy a short block 3 and have work done to it... What is the difference between a long block and a short block if they are the same motor?
Sorry i am retarted when it comes to simply stuff like this ![]() -------------------- 1 JL 1,000/1v2
2 JL 12" W6v2 2 Focal 6.5 component 165a1 Kenwood DDX512 head unit Running 142.6db with the back seat up:) |

long block means whole, complete engine. (i.g. all the components needed for an engine swap) Short block is just a term used meaning it's not an entire engine. Some components are missing.....usually the head.
By the way, where in Oregon are you? This post has been edited by tin_foil: Feb 12, 2008 - 10:47 PM -------------------- ![]() |

It doesn't mean everything you need for a swap.
Generally - people talk short block when they talk motor w/o the head, and long block is a full motor. -------------------- |
