Calling everyone running 17x8.5 or 18x8.5 wheels, I know theres a couple of you out there. Options

I did a member search of people who listed 17x8.5 as their wheel size and found a couple profiles.
which is a good thing because thats the size wheel i plan on ordering soon.
I was hoping I could get a few pics of how your wheels fit in the fenders and what offset your running.
Also do you experience any rubbing when turning? how are they to drive on? ect. Thanks guys.

im running on 16x9,5" (or was it 9?!) but they fit and doesn´t rub when turning. ET was.. hmm.. around 35? Check my profile for pictures, those taken in the summer!

Are you sure those are 9 inches wide? Does not look to be. Also, your offset would not be able to accomodate that width if correct. Another thing is that lowered ride height must be considered.

What about 17x8.5 56 offset and using a 25mm spacer? Gives you a 31 offset then roll the fenders.

From my measurements, the wheel will sit pretty much even with the fender. Which would require me to use a slightly stretched tire and possibly fold out the fender a bit. I am pretty positive though that the tires will not hit the suspension.



Also, what about 16x8 with 25mm offset.

Obviously I can make any of these fit by stretching the fenders. But how close will they be without stretching.

i have 18x8 with a 35mm offset i think. i dropped the car approx 3 inches early in the fall and did not experiance any issues with rubbing. thats a 225/35/18 tire too.

i say issues... because the inner wheel plastics came close to the tire in the front. rears are not a problem and i did not/dont need to roll my fenders.

after comparing my car to art's, i could prolly use a spacer on the back to bring the wheels more flush, which would deff require fenders to be rolled. but for now im happy

i recently got some 18x9 wheels and am planning to run a much larger tire, like 245/35/18 in the rear, once i get those tires ill also mount them on the front & let you know how well everything fits. i dont see any issues running wheels that wide. just make sure you get tires with enough of a sidewall. im soo tired of the crap i have now.

I've got a set of 17x8 ET 35 wheels coming soon. I'll look at how close it is in the front and rear and I should be able to come up with an offset you'd need for a 17x8.5.

Itchy, this is what I used to calculate my new wheels. And on the tire rack website gives you tire dimensions (I'm sure you already knew that.) so put the numbers in here and go out to your car and start measuring and rolling.
