hey everyone im starting to get pissed and paranoid because they guys I work with at advance say i paid too much for my 6G

I bought my celica about 3 months ago and paid 8300 out the door for it.
Its a '99 has 66K miles on it and stickshift
clean car fax 1 owner
perfect exterior
came with a 2 month warraty that I didnt have to take advantage of
complementary road side assistance
no abs
cloth interior
great tires
inside of front rotors were shot but I didnt notice.

oh yea KBB says its valued at around 8K at excellent condition, which mine is, but I know KBB isnt always accurate. anyway, I like the car but I wish toyota didnt castrate them. I mean, the looks alone scream for a better motor kindasad.gif

update. in the interior shot, I removed the "wood" trim and replaced the head unit. so no granny remarks please 0.o

ey man looks sharp.

i dont think you paid too much for it, considering it has less than 100k miles, 1 owner (looks like he paid good attention to it) has trd side skirts smile.gif clear sidemarkers, its a GT smile.gif , and you bought it at a dealership, where normally cars go for KBB anyways.

what did you do with the wood trim?? i like it smile.gif

Those are factory sides and turn signals. wink.gif
But I don't think you over paid. It's in AMAZING condition.

whew glad to hear it. one of the guys I work with says he say a black one with the same mileage for 5 k. but then again he drives and SRT4 Neon wink.gif

what about all of those kbb wannabe books saying they have the REAL market value? those peg my car at about 5 k as well...

oh yea, if this thing was black with a black leather interior... i would die happy

Good looking Celica. Our dealership only got one in for the entire 1999 year...and it was a red liftback. Anyways, I think you paid an acceptable price. That is waht I would expect to pay.

it's alittle on the higher side i think, but if it was something you want, then it was worth it.
I wouldn't say you really over paid by much...

I paid 3000 for my 96 GT
2 owners
body had 205,000 miles on it
Everything major under the hood was new and replaced pretty much except for the engine which had 70k on it and the clutch had about 15k on it.

body was in great shape, well before the tree thingy...

man that car is mint redface.gif i paid 2900 for my 94gt 180km's on it, but it needs some work..strut mount, ebrake shoes which are scary priced (Still havent got them) it needed all new brake pads and rotors front and back, and it on my second day of driving the car the timing belt snapped, so i had to throw one of those in...but now that its all fixed i LOVE my car smile.gif

You can never over pay for a car u can enjoy and love.

i paid almost $9000 3 years ago after fixing it up from a salvaged title. but it's a 95 gt-s with 60k miles with absolutely all available features and in almost brand-new-from-the-dealer condition otherwise.. still had that rough leather like it was never sat in before

just remember, you bought a car in GREAT condition and you'll be spending less in the long run... like in my case, the only thing that failed me mechanically was my one rear strut in the past 3 yrs even through harsh weather conditions

trust me, you'd rather pay more and have the peace of mind of having no mechanical or cosmetic problems now or anytime in the near future.

Here's a nationwide listing of G6 Celica convertibles in Japan, the highest at over $15,000 (with 19,000 kilometers [11.800 miles] on the odometer). Prices are in units of 10,000 yen, and these Celicas have a lot more horsepower than the U.S. models but with high torque peak. Clicking on a thumbnail brings up a large picture and details about the car (in Japanese).

i always said this, if you wanted it and you like it!
its worth it!!
but if you are regretting it, then its not worth it! and you paid a lot.

but for me yeah i think its a lot... considering no abs and no leather interior.

I wouldn't take less than 8k for my 97 GT 5sp with 89k IF I were going to sell it...

I think you got a good deal, If I found a 99 with really low miles I would consider it and sell mine or just get it for the wife and keep mine.

you cant just go get a new 6th gen anywhere at any price...

Ya man you got it for a touch of the high side, but if it is everything you want then its worth it smile.gif

I paid 6k for my 94 GT from old people with 76,003 miles on it. People thought i was crazy to buy a 14year old car for 6k, but it, like yours, is in perfect condition. So I say good find!!

For over 8K you should have gotten an automatic because that is an "upgrade"

Lucky for you i'm willing to help you out; seeing as i got mine for less than a G, then i dont deserve theese nice transmisions, and i'm willing to swap with you. wink.gif

I paid 9G out the door for mine from a dealer w/ 77k miles. If the car is in great condition it's worth the money. Mine was in perfect condition in and out. I've got the black / black leather you wanted biggrin.gif . People say it's too much money for a 10-15 year old car, so they buy a POS civic or something thats ragged out, looks ugly, and dies a year later and they're in the market again. You tell me whose getting the good deal?

I have a sun roof. Got to enjoy it for the first time ever today since it was nice out. I would kill for a leather interior. Maybe when I get some cash one of you will trade me + $$?

I'm starting to like my car alot more now since you guys say its "rare find"

leather seats can be had pretty easy... find someone who has nice leather seats, have them take off the covers, ship them, and bam, under $100 and you're set. ss-III seat covers are also nice

i wouldn't mind people at work busting on you about your car. its far more classy than anything you can get for that price in my mind.
