soo my car has been making some rough rubbing noise. only on the right side, and it happens when i'm turning or going straight. i checked the brake pads and they are fine, and it still makes the sound when braking. there is nothing hitting the wheel/rotor. its coming from the front end, passenger side, so i guess it could be my axle, but i just replaced it a while ago (less than a year). there is nothing rubbing against the axle either.
so, yea. would it be the the axle? the wheel bearing? it only occurs when i'm rolling, not when stopped or in park. thanks guys -x -------------------- ![]() Pandelica 2.0 in progress. |

doesn't increase in volume, but repeats faster i guess cuz the wheel is moving. i think its the bearing, its the one thing i didn't check when i was takin a look at it..doh.

had the same thing here, rough sound which repeats faster when you accelerate, it satrts around 100km/h for me
was comming from the left back side. i elevated the rear wheel and tried to make it turn by hand, theres a palce where its more difficult to do it. Anyone has an idea? This post has been edited by zoik: Mar 17, 2008 - 4:18 PM |

QUOTE(zoik @ Mar 17, 2008 - 2:17 PM) had the same thing here, rough sound which repeats faster when you accelerate, it satrts around 100km/h for me was comming from the left back side. i elevated the rear wheel and tried to make it turn by hand, theres a palce where its more difficult to do it. Anyone has an idea? since the back of the celica has very little parts, it can either be brakes related or bearing related. If you can take off the wheel, remove the brake drum and see if the turning is still dificult in once spot. If it is then its your rear wheel bearing going out. |
