My GF got her internet through her cell phone company Sprint - Lord knows why. It costs too much, It requires a huge deposit [at least with her credit] and it can only hook up to one computer at a time. All of this sux but my most immediate problem is I just got my Kids an X-box 360 and they play on-line at their friends house constantly [he has what I would have bought - a regular ethernet cable internet]. But so far I have not been able to figure out how to set this up through either her computer or with the wireless internet device plugged directly into the X-box 360. The kids are "bored" now and anyone of you that has kids knows that can make your house into the 7th level of hell really quick.
Now I know a bunch of you are into X-Box and a bunch of you are into computers so can someone please tell me how to do this so I can get back to work killing the gremlins in my swapped Celica? Come on - please help a guy out? You want to plud the ethernet cable into the back fo the 360. if you holding the 360 with the back towards you its on the left. then take the other end of the cable and connect it to your modem. the ethernet cable it the one next to the white ( white, freespace, ethernet cable) from there you will ahve to make an xbox live account,(must have a hotmail email address) and just follow the steps ont the 360 i hope i anwsered your question

Thanks bro - sort of but not really. We have a X-box Live account and we know how to hook it up with a wireless router. Unfortunately, and I should have posted this before, we have this as our internet connection:
Edit: Crap - that link didn't work check this one: http://nextelonline.nextel.com/NASApp/onli...eBroadbandCards I have the Ovation U727 about halfway down the page. Sprint's clueless - I got 3 supposedly succesfully more intelligent "techs" and apparantly they only teach them the word "Duh" and "IDK" at their little tech schools. Hell they couldn't even tell me how to hook my second computer up to use the internet at the same time - I'm pretty sure all I need to do is network the two computers and tell the second one to use the first one as it's internet connection [sorry - my wording sux I know - I don't know the technical terms for anything but I can do a whole lot ![]() Anyway - check that link and let me know what you think now. Do I have to buy a wireless router like the one posted above, plug the Sprint device into that and both computers or can I use the old regular router I have laying around to hook it up? Damn I'm confusing myself and the kids are driving me up the wall asking if I can check this thread every two minutes ![]() Help! you you are using a laptop pci card as your only internet connection?
get rid of that crap and get a real internet service provider. i doubt it would even be fast enough to run live. get yourself cable internet or dsl (i use comcast but the internet is down all the time and it's more $$$) then get a modem and a router (wireless preferably for you other computers but have the xbox run directly from the router) and voila. don't mess with sprint. they suck!!! i used to work for them in customer service (1.5 months of hell) and they don't tell you crap about their phones or other devices. they say "look it up" no wonder why their customer service sucks right? -------------------- |

I agree [except the speed - it's every bit as fast as the comcast DSL (used to be roadrunner) I have at work] and I would totally do that but as you probably know you have to sign a 2 year contract. I was pissed when I found out she got that but what're you gonna do [in her defense she was thinking it would be easiest cause no extra bill each month and it's pretty cheap too]?
I know there's gotta be a way. What if I plug the sprint into a wirelss router and plug both PC's and the X-box 360 into that? I'd rather find out if that's gonna work before I waste money on the router. And as I type this he asks yet again - "did anyone know how?" poor kid - I remember those days ![]() -------------------- ![]() ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them.
