ATTENTION As you can tell, we have started a new thread for this meet, since we finally have some official hotel info on the first post. Please ignore the other closed thread. It just made sense to start a new thread with good, accurate info. Sorry that there was a lapse in planning this thing. Jen was serious about it but then kind of has fallen out the scene on here lately. Jdg371 (Jasper) and I finally just took over.

So, playr (Dan) has stepped in and is helping Jasper and I too, mostly with the coordination of who is coming and their hotel status. Like he says, you are on your own to call these hotels! Please call them asap! Jdg and I will be updating this first post through Dan, in which we will mainly be adding more details about the activities suggested/planned beyond the Mt Trashmore Park main meet place. All three of us are from Virginia, and know the Virginia Beach area pretty good.

We look forward to making this a meet to remember for you!

BUMP! If you are on the list, call the hotels asap! Fair warning.

If you are still unsure about your status, you can always make a hotel reservation, then back out the week of the meet if you ultimately cannot go. Most hotels work that way, but make sure you ask when you call.

Bump. Anyone else interested? Is this meet losing competition from the other planned East Coast meets, ie Colt State Park and DWG08? Let me know what we can do to make this better. I realize the more established, annual meets are a little more enticing, but coming down here will be a lot of fun and we are determined to make it that way. Thanks.

bump...yes we will have activities. Mt. Trashmore is the main event, and there is plenty of parking there that this crowd should not be a problem. We will be planning a drive and night time outing too or whatever. We might go drive some motorized go-karts too at a place called Motoworld.

Never fear, I (one of the planners) am still around. I have not posted on this thread in a long time b/c I wanted to get a feeler for how well this thing would go off. Honestly, looks like the interest is more to the local area, ie North Carolina, VA Beach area (or as you locals may prefer - Hampton Roads), and Northern Virginia. For those further up North, like PA or Jersey, please let me know asap if you still plan to come and if you made those hotel reservations.

I am fine with a small Celica meet...no big deal. There is plenty to do around here, and if you are not too far away from here, I doubt you will mind either. It is hard enough to get a big 6gc meet on this site anymore anyway, so just to see a handful of you will be cool. Other than the cars, we can go for a cruise, drive along the beach, try the go carts, to go a club later, whatever. No pressure.

In fact there is a pretty cool drive-in car show every Saturday in Va Beach that we can cruise too also - a big mix or cars, mostly Vettes, Vipers, Mustangs, vintage cars (VERY mixed), but also a handful of imports. The show can be pretty random, which is the cool thing about it.

Bump. Once again, the interest for this has turned out to be really low, and I don't recommend guys outside a 100 mile radius wasting your time to come down here, unless you don't mind the small turnout, or would just like to have some fun down in the area. I am not going to make any reservations for anything, but we can still meet up at the Mt Trashmore park and take it from there. There is plenty going on around here, so we can figure it out. I figure this will just be a Saturday meet, unless someone has actually made a HOTEL reservation and would like to hang out Friday night. Let me know ASAP!'
