for valve covers

10 VC's - $65/ea
15VC's - $55/ea

if we get more than 20 I will reduce the price further and so on.

edit: this group buy is being held to further expand our business to serve you. better equipment means faster turnaround times and more productivity

this is not a "i can get it cheaper here.." thread.
if you want it done, by a reputable guy, who does a great job, then pony up the cash and have it done.
can have it done cheaper elsewhere? great, go get it done.
any posts not relating to JC's services offered here will be deleted.

if you guys need other things done, just let me know. i can give you a quote. if it's rims, i need to know the sizes (height and width) as well as the color. everything else, i need to know the part and color

so who else is ready to sign up??

I dont know how things work around here on this board, but i know that I rarely check the stickies when I'm perusing the boards for parts or services. perhaps we should unstiky it and let the crowd bump it up??? it's just a thought. regardless, thanks for the great hospitality and the courtesy. i have a lot of respect for this forum now and look forward to doing business with all of you.

I know this will sound horrible... I used to work for a honda dealership and I friggen fell in love with the red S2000 valve cover.... If you've ever seen it then you'll know what I mean... Can you guys do the powdery looking red like on the s2000 valve cover??? Or is that not feasible. If so what would that cost me?
Thanks so much.

What would shipping costs be to Canada? Do you do anything other than VC's? IE powder coat intake/intercooler piping, or ceramic coating a heat shield?

the color you are reffering to is wrinkle red. my supplier has discontinued it however i can still find it elsewhere. as long as you get in on the group buy, it will still only cost you the group buy price.

shipping to canada isn't so bad. i will charge you the exact amount it cost you to ship it to me. i dont intend on making any money off of shipping. this particular group buy is for valve covers only, but we will powdercoat anything from a bolt or fitting, all the way to subframes and short blocks

turn around time would be no more than 72hours. guaranteed!!!

i do have a wrinkle black in stock so that would be perfect for you. which engine are yo ureffering to so i can give yo uan accurate quote? obviously, the valve cover will be on the group buy for whatever the group buy price is at that point. the intake manifold is roughly going to be $125 and the heat shield will be $45 (but i would reccommend getting a high temp color instead of the wrinkle black

i can setup a core charge if you'd like. i will send you your respective valve covers coated in the color of your choice. you would pay the cost of the group buy as well as the cost of the valve cover. when you receive the valve cover, send your original one back to me for a refund of your core charge. if this is doable for you guys let me know so i can track down both a 5s and a 3s VC. for the 3s, what year specifically do you have? do you have the valve cover with just the two bolts for the TB stay or do you have the peanut hole?? i have a few spares laying around.

stephen, just FYI, the 94+ celica valve covers are diffrent than the mr2 and 5th gen celica valve cover, and the camry cover.

(just in case you try and source a couple)

Couple of questions...If this should be taken to PM please let me know, but as they are fairly general I figured other members might be wondering same thing.

1) When is this GB going until?

2) Do you have any pics of the wrinkle red s2k? Any pics of wrinkle black?

3) Is the GB only for "basic" colors? Or would I be able to do something with a candy/metallic topcoat, or lettering different color? If not applicable to GB, then how much extra would this cost?

I'd be in if a core exchange was set-up.

all colors that we offer are included in this group buy with the exception of the high temp colors, illusion colors, and additives. if you want something special, we can also do that, but we would need to discuss the extra charge arrangements. the base price will be based on the number of customers that are in by the 15th of April. so far, out of three forums, we have 5 names.

i will poak around a bit stephen, and find a few pics to illustrate what im talking about.
the later 5sfe valve covers are "taller" than the early versions.

IIRC the only diffrence between the 3s covers is the PCV vent tube.

chrome plate or chrome powdercoat??

if you get in on the group buy here, the VC price will be determined there. otherwise, depending on the specific engine, it will be around $90+ return shipping. the intake manifold will run around $140 depending on which one it is. and this is all assuming you are reffering to chrome powdercoat, not chrome plating or chrome dipping.

here are some pics of the chrome powdercoat

thanks for the pic

the IM has much more coatable surface area than a valve cover and requires more prep work, hence the price difference. but like i said, i was roughly estimating the cost based on 3s-gte parts. they are subject to change

nope. chrome plating turns colors when it heats up over time. chrome powder will not fade, chip, peel, or crack. at the very worst it will oxidize over time

Hi, a couple of questions:

1) Will/can you paint strut bars?

2) How much to do this?

if your name doesnt have a color listed next to it, i need to know now so i can go ahead and order the powder if i dont already have it in stock. also, please let me know when you ship out your valve covers so i can keep my eyes open on them. they will be completed in the order in which received.

there is still 6 more days left to get in on this group buy. If i can source another 91-92 3sgte valve cover, we will have our 15 mark and the prices will go down an additional $10

probably a dumb question... but is that for all 4? smile.gif

i'm looking to do red, like a TRD red with a good powder clear coat. are you using polyester, hybrid, or epoxy? i prefer epoxy, but it's not that big of a deal for me.

if you guys need other things done, just let me know. i can give you a quote. if it's rims, i need to know the sizes (height and width) as well as the color. everything else, i need to know the part and color

so who else is ready to sign up??

I would love to get my intake manifold done. Its not the stock one tho. Can you give me a price along with shipping from 66212?

no. that's per caliper. i would use an epoxy based powder for that. i do have a safety red color which is a really bright red that could almost double as the TRD red.

probably somewhere around $140 depending on the color and the specific Intake manifold

and since everyone has been asking about the prep work that we do. here's a start.

first we start with a hot tank degreasing. it's nothing more than a ratio of purple power degreaser and water heated up to 140 degrees farenheit. we let it soak in there for about an hour. then, we remove the oil baffles and let the baffle plates soak longer while we blast the valve covers. we first blast it with 15/30 grit silicone carbide which removes all the greasy and brutal gunk that has been soaking on it for the last 16 years. this is followed by a 70 grit aluminum oxide and finally a 300 grit glass bead. at this point. if the substrate still has impurities of really bad pitting, we may or may not go back to square one and start with files and/or a power sander. after the sanding, we rince it off with water and blow it dry with clean compressed air. once it is completely dry, we outgas it at 500 degrees for 90 minutes. before we give it a chance to cool off, we spray it with denatured alchohol and let it evaporate dry. the substrate is now ready for powder. here are some pics of a valve cover after prep and ready for powder!

just between yo uand me (and apparently everyone else that is reading this) that valve cover was yours, but i gave it to no shoes and got his core from him. which makes it better, because his has less imperfections in the metal than yours did and i messed up on that one anyway. take note on the second to last pic of the VC underneath the oil fill hole on the side. can you see the run??? so be glad i did that. yours will look much nicer!!

matt, i need your shipping address. i cant find the box that your parts came in

also, for the record, the genIII 3sgte VC's and all other VC's with rivited oil baffles do not use the same prep methods as the VC's with bolted oil baffles. i cant blast them for obvious reasons (media getting into baffles = blown motor) so we use a special chemical to strip the covers as well as a wire brush and a 6400psi hot water pressure washer!

it really depends on the specific turbo and the color. did you want both the compressor and the exhaust housings or just the compressor?

sorry about the lettering. i tried it five times but three layers of powdercoat is simply a good formula for bad results.

Like that color, so much. so what is the going rate right now? 65 or 55

how does shipping work, i pay to send it. How does it come back to me. is shipping back extra.

Assuming no taxes. I have a spare valve cover im contemplating so much... ^^^ red

Can you paint ebay headers or stock exhaust, and what about the stock 5sfe intake manifold . Prices? in that ^^^ Red

IPB Image

Do you inspect the valves before, like with your eyes? IDK much about valves.

pm me with prices. Im more looking into the valve cover first as i dont have a spare intake manifold.

the group buy has ended for the valve covers. now everything will have to be full price. the going rate for a 5sfe VC in lollypop red would be $90+return shipping.

the headers/exhaust manifold can only be done in ceramic colors. prices are dependant on color.
