for all you auto gts out there... do you guys feel like its hard to keep your speed constant past 65mph? for example, i feel like im pressing the gas pedal pretty hard to keep my celica going at 80mph and if im not looking i generally hit the 65-70 range after a bit... my ankle is tiring haha. anyone have any solutions?

i was thinking SRI or tighting the idle cable... or both haha

no... i dont have that problem...

all i can admit to is that we are having to really push that pedal to get up to those speeds, and it'll stop accelerating rather weird... and the transmission loves to shift gears at random interventions when you have obtained those speeds confused.gif I dont like it...

I really need to swap frown.gif

To get to 80mph then you gotta hold it way down there, and i think it's a problem of the way that the petal comes to your foot as well.

Try sitting in a diff posiotion. tilt your wheel all the way down, drop your seat back and rest the heel corner of your shoe right where the petal "would" hit the floor. then you got a better grip on the thing... maybe that'd help...

IDK...

i don,t have that problem either,
i learned to drive at a constant speed for 30 minutes to save gas
since gas price is getting expensive!
is just a matter of time, just think about gas prices when you are driving
jejejjee

I have an auto GT and definitely don't have that problem. Have you checked the transmission fluid? Someone with more mechanical knowledge can offer better advice, but I reckon it definitely should not be doing that.

no problem here. i have good pedal travel to 65-70. i can accelerate to 90-100 easily without crushing the pedal into the mat and still have a .tiny little bit. of pedal to play with. and yes, i live in canada and you may assume it's kph, it's not. my car is genuine USDM with speedo in mph. if youe car is choking out at 75-80 maybe it's the Cali spec ghost haunting you. before spending $.$$ on an SRI make sure your air filter is clean (new), your plugs are in good shape, your wires aren't cracked or loose and you have engaged the OD when travelling at highway speeds. i know the Celipig SCREAMS in 3rd gear with the pedal mashed into the carpet as hard as i can push it.

a few 15, seperate amp / crossover, 2nd batt & cap. Plus plenty of my tools are under there. (where the tire goes, on the edges, ect.) Wrenches, power, sockets, misc wiring, ect.
