Took my car to a small shop here in houston today. Nick's Auto Repair on 1960. guy was real nice. let me help him out and learned a little bit too.
last week when i tried it i was having trouble getting the rotor off. i tried using the screws in the opposing screw holes on the rotor. rotor just wouldn't come off. Nick just grabbed a hammer and some anti sieze spray and gave it a few wacks..and pop! came right off. i should have just tried it before. guess sometime you just need a little brute force. found that the hold down springs were missing so i got new ones.(might have been holding the rotor on.) also, next is replacing the e brake shoes.(one is chipped.) anyone know where to get one? tried napa and oreily's. dealer next? autozone has nothing but oil filters and neons.. ![]() Thanks for the help. It's my understanding that the ebrake shoes are a dealer-only part, and that they're also not cheap.
